oublie tes moeurs
laisse-toi aller et n’ai pas peur
les mecs c’est des salauds
mais peut-etre pas tous
remplis ton verre et a nos amours
j’suis la pour ca

just a few slight corrections from someone with a bit more fluency:

think of me the next time you hear the waves' gossip and if they tell you that you only did me harm don't get upset that's what I'm there for (or literally, "I'm there for that")

the sea doesn't know the thread (in the sense of something long and directional) of time which brings us together and separates us long live the high tide and long live the low but especially long live the difference that's why i'm there

leave the boat running forget your morals let yourself go and don't be afraid guys are bastards but maybe not all fill your glass and (drink) to our loves i'm there for that

Gentle Hour

This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
