In steep cliffs with rocks all piled up
Mysteries of your passing luck
Ages pass, shells and bits of bone forming new limestone
To give things their turn

There are no bad words for the coast today

You never knew why you felt so good
In the strangest of places
Like in waiting rooms and long lines that made you late
Or mall parking lots on holidays

There are no bad words for the coast today
When we hold our breath until nothing's left
It all starts to fade

See the stars from where the birds make their homes
Staring back at us
Indifferent but distanced perfectly, projected endlessly
It's so fucking beautiful

There are no bad words for the coast today
Then you ask, "What's a palisade?"
And if we're too late for happiness?

General CommentA year and a half ago, i went to their show for their under the black light tour, and as a final song in their encore they sang this. It was awesome because half the crowd didnt really know the song, only the fans from the good old days really appreciated it. My favorete part of the song is:

"You never knew why you felt so good
    In the strangest of places
Like in waiting rooms and long lines that made you late
Or mall parking lots on holidays"

General CommentThere are two songs called Spectacular Views. One is a track thats after the end of one of the (Variation on a Theme) tracks. That would be this one. The other is one of the songs called, well, Spectacular Views. I understand it's confusing but that's what they did. So, yes, you have a different version. I really do love this one though, so great.

General Commenti looove this song. it makes me so happy. and it reminds me of this one day where my boyfriend and i went hiking up here near my school, and it was effin gorgeous.. (steep cliffs with rocks all piled up).

and the part about 'there are no bad words for the coast today' reminds me of home and like sending a message home that im doing well here.

plus my boyfriend claims to like long lines and on the way up to go hiking that day i mentioned the Palisades mall and he asked 'what's a palisade?' i swear.
