I have no feelings, there is no more sunlight
The darkest hour is now here
I must have lost it for good, staying here without a fight
Out in the cold and windy night
Still waiting for a sign

I know there is still a day for me
One short moment is still enough for me
Bring me life with your ray of light
If only I found a small piece of the fallen sun?

I wait for the day that will come
Wait for the sunlight, wait for the one
You can do what you want with the sea,
But the rest of the Sun belongs to me

The winter fell on me and ended my life
The darkest hour is now here
Yet one more frozen month, my Hell awaits me
Out in the cold and windy night
Still waiting for a sign

I know there is still a day for me
One short moment is still enough for me
Bring me life with your ray of light
If only I found a small piece of the fallen sun?

I wait for the day that will come
Wait for the sunlight, wait for the one
You can do what you want with the sea,
But the rest of the Sun belongs to me

I wait for the day that will come
Wait for the sunlight, wait for the one
You can do what you want with the sea,
But the rest of the Sun belongs to me

I know there is still a day for me
One short moment is still enough for me
Bring me life with your ray of light
If only I found a small piece of the fallen sun?

I wait for the day that will come
Wait for the sunlight, wait for the one
You can do what you want with the sea,
But the rest of the Sun belongs to me

I wait for the day that will come
Wait for the sunlight, wait for the one
You can do what you want with the sea,
But the rest of the Sun belongs to me

General CommentI think this song is about some troubled love. A man is interested in a girl, but the girl is only interested in another guy, thus, sadness and a sense of rage take over (its evident in the singer's tone). The sun is the girl and the sea is the guy she is interested in. The sad man begs for the winter (remorse, pain, etc.) to take care of the sea, but he tells winter to leave the sun alone with no feelings for the sea, hence the title. Kind of reminds of San Sebastian (in terms of metaphor). I hope this meaning helps - great song!

General CommentThis seems more about someone who's depressed yet he's waiting for the day it'll go away and he'll be happy again.

Winter being depression and the sun happiness.

General CommentI beleive it IS about depression, and DOES contain metaphors.

The Metaphors being that the sun being happiness, and (s)he wants a peice of the sun, so they can be slightly happy.

They don't care about the sea because they just want one little bt. anyone who had/has depression can relate with that.

And no, I haven't had depression, but I know a lot of people who have, and ask me for things to help, so I know that they'd only want a bit of enjoyment to be happy.

    General CommentI also forgot, the
"The darkest hour is still here"
    means they're thinking of suicide.

And they won't as depicted from the line:
"I know there's still a day for me."

    General CommentThis is from an interview to Tony Kakko;

"The Rest Of The Sun Belongs To Me" is the Japanese bonus track, it's about nature. I was going through ideas for the song and then I went to the army's repetition training when we had kaamos, a time of the year when the sun doesn't rise at all, and I really need the sun. I was like you can do what you want with the ocean, but let the sun be !
