Overheard your conversation
Tonight I'm not satisfied
Sitting here I realize that I always think I'm right
So it's over for all of you
My scenery is lakes and trees
I just can't keep all concrete
I've fallen for this metal and I love this handle
So it's over for all of you
Two round holes cut into this fabric
And I will slide it over my head
I'll chase you for all hours
I never see you make the effort to chase me
Now your final place is this lake
Stare at me now on your way down

General CommentAnyone who can't see this is about the the 2nd Friday the 13th, and the band comparing everything in this song to Jason and what he does, has either never seen the movie or is an idiot.

Yes, it more than likely has a deeper meaning, but the outer meaning is clearly from the movie.

General CommentI think this is just a song to be taken at face value. It is about friday the 13th and in my opinion that's all it was meant to be. A lot of bands have 'deep' lyrics and then just put a stupid song on their disc. ie dead kennedys and too drunk to fuck.

General Commentim pretty sure its a double-meaning.
Jeff's probly found a resemblence in mr. vorhees and his band, and so made lyrics reflecting those similarities.

    "Overheard your conversation
    Tonight I'm not satisfied"
either a) Jason's stalkin around crystal lake and overhearing some dumb teens talking. he decides he isnt satisfied and wants to kill something
or b) he overhears some 'fans' talking about how the PTW show didnt satisfy their need for whiny emo bitchiness (no offense to those of you who consider yourselves emo)
Sitting here I realize that I always think I'm right
So it's over for all of you
My scenery is lakes and trees
I just can't keep all concrete
I've fallen for this metal and I love this handle
So it's over for all of you
Two round holes cut into this fabric

I'll chase you for all hours
I never see you make the effort to chase me
Now your final place is this lake

"Sitting here I realize that I always think I'm right"
pretty much a) Jason always estimates that he can easily take down his prey
or b)Jeff briefly questions his band's movement into heavier soudscapes....but hes pretty sure its a good move cuz its HIS effin band and he can do WHATEVER he wants to with it.

"So it's over for all of you"
    a)JASONS GONNA KILL YOU BITCHES
b)sorry mr.emo, but i guess you can just get rid of all your PTW merch...cuz this is our new sound

"My scenery is lakes and trees
I just can't keep all concrete"
    a)crystal lake...wat a wonderful place to kill some shit....cuz the city sucks....too many cops..n..shit...
    -or-
b)lakes and trees are more diverse, coming in different varieties and what-not [like their sound range] than strictly concrete...nice and...bland.

"I've fallen for this metal and I love this handle"
    a) DAMN, SON! this new machette is pretty sexy...nice...leather handle...ergonomic grip..o yeaaaa
    +or+
b)i like this new metal sound, it gives me more grip and control..it just feels better

"Two round holes cut into this fabric
And I will slide it over my head
I'll chase you for all hours
I never see you make the effort to chase me
Now your final place is this lake
Stare at me now on your way down "
    a) Jason donning the cloth and killing
b)Jeff putting on a 'mask' and sticking to the old sound...he does this to try and accomodate the 'fans' but they cant compromise and meet him half-way on the new sound. so fuck tryin to conform, let's bury this now. basically hes bringing closure to the old stuff.

prehaps a message that from now on PTW is going heavier...kinda symbolic how its the last song. to leave that impression on you..if u read into the lyrics enuff....thats all.

    PTW owns hard.
    and yea...........
    Jeff is my other dad....
    even tho im black.......
    hah...........................

General Commentpersonally i think this song is pretty much a big fuck you to everyone that doesn't like the new shit. i know it sounds i'm just blabbing because i'm loyal and there are alot of people out there that dislike You Come Before You, but if you read the lyrics and listen to the song you'll see.

"I've fallen for this metal....so it's over for all of you".....think about it.

General Commentif you ask me the new ptw is better than a lot of crap thats out there right now, but the one thing i cant stand on YCBY is that its so much more repetitive than their best album ever december...in my opiniong they got progessively worse by each release

General Commenti agree with bandageris on the meaning of the song
"my scenery is lakes and trees
i just can't keep all concrete"
thats like he does not have just one source of music (oposite of dec.) he has more than that and can play different music (tfr ,ycby).

and i believe old ptw was better, but i really like this album, maybe a little bit repetitive but is awesome.
they should make some more songs like Nerdy

General CommentI don't know if this has any relevance...but Crystal Lake is the place where Friday the 13th takes place.
