we both want the world but we both know that this gets old if i could open up my chest then maybe i could find a way to give you just a little piece of my heart
sometimes i would rather cut your lips right off your face than kiss them goodnight
but then sometimes you can make a room feel perfect when you try because a mouth full of lies will leave a sour taste that cuts just like a knife as it slides down your throat
you give up the world and fall to your knees to show me that you care
we could believe in windows but behind the broken glass are fairy tales
in her bedroom i am throwing pieces of what i wish i could be knowing that someday in her bedroom she will know. here we go
if i could find your eyes from across the room we have to try not to throw away this happiness if air explodes between us then this is more than just a feeling
today i woke up mising you another day goes by alone
we could believe in windows but behind the broken glass are fairy tales
not every movie has a happy ending but frame by frame i learn to love you when i see flowers bloom in your footsteps.
i learn to love you i learn to love you frame by framewe both want the world but we both know that this gets old if i could open up my chest then maybe i could find a way to give you just a little piece of my heart

This song is amazing. Just listen to his voice when he sings the song and hear the emotion in it....its awesome. The lyrical content is powerful "sometimes i would rather cut your lips right off your face than kiss them goodnight ,but then sometimes you can make a room feel perfect when you try" Many girls do this and they dont even know it... "you give up the world and fall to your knees to show me that you care" They think they gotta do everythin for the guy to keep them there when really you dont have to if the person loves you.

I love the emotion in his voice, especially the first line "we both want the world..." i love the contrast between "...than kiss them goodnight" and then it gets quiet for "but then sometimes you can make a room feel perfect..." the altering level of intensity gives it more feeling.

One of my most favorite SOTY songs, the last half of the song kicks so much ass. It's just a quite addicting beat.

My favorite SOTY song. I think this is about a love/hate relationship. In the begining of the song, he's aware that he sometimes hates her, but loves her just as much. They both weant the relationship to work, and obviously not all relationships are easy.

"Not every movie has a happy ending But frame by frame I learn to love you When I see flowers bloom in your footsteps"

They're both going to have to compromise for this relationship, and learn to love each other. It's a very sweet song, showing that relationships obviously are going to take work.

Oh, and the best part of this song is the last 4 minutes.

Definately an amazing song. My favorite, by far.

All the things above pointed out were valid and I feel the same way. I am going to try to define some other parts to it also.

we could believe in windows but behind the broken glass are fairy tales////they can believe that their love will last-but they end up breaking it...making what they put their faith in a fairytale.

in her bedroom i am throwing pieces of what i wish i could be knowing that someday in her bedroom she will know///// this is self-explanatory..though her bedroom symbolizes her, he throws pieces...not all of himself...meaning he isn't give his all to the relationship...though one day she will know...when she realizes all the pieces that fit together to become his trying.

if i could find your eyes from across the room we have to try not to throw away this happiness if air explodes between us then this is more than just a feeling////meaning if she would just look at him and see him...they would both know its real

Holiday

@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
