Is it real?
We're always the same
We're almost undone now
I was caught in the rain, wastin' my time on the ground.
Waiting the call of what would you say and can you come over?
I was caught in the rain, wastin' my time on the ground.
It was you
Who could get me high with whatever you say
You're tellin' me something real
What we do doesn't matter now
Whatever it takes for you to stay with me
Trading thoughts across from the room
I saw you surrounded
I was caught in rain, wastin' my time on the ground.
Feeling us fall, without an escape
I almost let you down
I was caught in the rain, wastin' my time on the ground.
It was you
Who could get me high with whatever you say
You're tellin' me something real
What we do doesn't matter now
Whatever it takes for you to stay with me
We're always the same
We're almost undone now
I was caught in the rain, wastin' my time on the ground.
Waiting the call of what would you say and can you come over?
I was caught in the rain, wastin' my time on the ground.
It was you
Who could get me high with whatever you say

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
This is just an impression...could be totally wrong...but it seems like caught in the rain is symbolic of bad times, not being happy...when it says it was you who could get me high, maybe it's referring to this person who could get them literally high off the ground, above the clouds and out the the dull, feelingless, depression of the "rain." Caught in the rain wasting my time on the ground could refer to the low when they are apart, and getting high could be the emotional high of being with the person.
Great tune. It's about someone being at a low point in there life and then finding someone that makes them feel like they are living the high life again, makes them forget all their worries, and helps them get out of the rain.
Good one. I believe it's saying that this person made him feel good about his life when he was caught in the rain (aka during bad times). He'd do anything to get this person back now that they've completely distanced themselves.
This song is incredibly great. And it's kind of sweet, in an odd sort of way.
i absolutely love this song... i've got such a passion for it. i don't know what it is but this song totally turns me on! it is so incredible
this song is amazing....i love the lyrics and how passionate & alive the singer sounds.
this song kicks ass. it's obviously about being in love and the high that you get from the feeling of it.
To me; "Caught In The Rain" is the the trying times and tribulations of a man who was attached to a lover; lost her; and couldn't deal with it. This lead eventually lead him to put himself in some bad situations, and realizes it before it's too late. I love this song, it's inspired me to move on from my battles with depression and lead a more engaged life.
I agree. When he says, "And can you come over?" I feel like he's trying to save any shred of their relationship that still remains. I think, at the end, he realizes that its over and he has to move on.
think its about being in love with a junkie. the junkie is in the rain. to get "caught in the rain" means to bring yourself to this persons place. its rainy there. but, they could still get them high even though it was in the rain. metaphoric.
It's when you're in a bad place, and someone comes along, and makes you see that things aren't as bad as they seem. "When I was caught in the rain, you made me feel You made me feel, made me feel"
