"Nobody's Home" as written by and Kerry A/walsh Livgren....
It's empty now, no friendly face
And nothing lives within
I look around and I find no trace
To tell me what has been

So far I've come to find there's no one here
No life & fear
I came for nothing, they have gone
And nobody's home

I came to learn, perhaps to teach
But I can tell somehow
The world that I was sent to reach
Has got no future now

Across the galaxy to spread the word
And no one heard
I came for nothing, I'm alone
And nobody's home

A requiem was never sung, no elegy was read
No monument was carved in stone in memory of the dead
For those who made this place do not remain
They feel no pain
A stranger fate was never known

General CommentI think it's about aliens coming to arth and finding us nuked to death. With the state of the world today... It might happen. 'course, other interpretentations have been voiced before. *hopes people come and post and debate this out*

General CommentNice, Zorgn, I never saw that before. I always thought it was about Jesus coming to preach to humanity but being shunned, and the world falling apart as a result.

General CommentThis is a truly haunting song. I stumbled on it when I was about 13 or so. (My father had the album) During this time I was having a hard time grasping the concept of the world ending, no more people and me dying. Sad thoughts. But it helped me because its just as much a very beautiful song. I do subscribe to the idea that it makes you think, if a visitor should someday travel to earth what do we want them to find, what will our legacy be? Just a beautifully writen song both lyrics and melody.

General CommentI'd always shared a similar thought to Neotemplar. I found the sound of knocking on the door, near the end of the song, to be reminiscent of Jesus' words: "Behold, I stand at the door and knock..."

Nice to know someone else shares my thought on this. You should listen to "hold on" by kansas & you will get that same thought. Most think this song is a love song, but I'll let you decide.
