"Hey Girl" as written by and Christopher Andrew Carrabba....
Hey girl, you've got a smart way about you
That makes me with
That I was smart enough for you.

Hey girl, you've got a fine laugh,
And I think that I could get used to that.
And you're already used to laughing at me.

Well, so what if your friends think I'm crazy.
I wasn't trying to impress those girls anyway.
They're all theory, no action,
And where I'm from we live
Like it's the latest attraction.

Hey girl, you've got a short fuse
And I've got designs on lighting you up,
And setting you off,
And watching you burn for me.

The world lives for the weekend.
Well, I'll watch as my weeks
Bleed right into them.
Without a line to divide what is theirs
And what is mine.

Well, so what if your friends think I'm crazy.
I wasn't trying to impress those girls anyway.
They're all theory, no action,
And where I'm from we live
Like it's the latest attraction.

Go on, go on, your cruel intentions
Won't solve your problems,
Everyone's gotta get bottom
Bottomed out in the long run
And those are the times you need love.

I've always loved this song. I bet anybody could totally relate to this. Just like how the guy wants the girl..and he doesnt think hes smart...[good] enough for the girl and how like the girls friends think hes crazy..ahh i just love this song.

General Commenti love this, especially the bit about 'i wans't trying to impress those girls anywya' because no matter how much a guy likes u, he always seems to need approval from his mates too. but yeha, great song.

General CommentI think "where i'm from we live like its the latest attraction" means that him and his friends, or the people on his side of town live life like its a ride, i think he's just describing how crazy their lifestyle is

General CommentCan't believe only 9 people commented on this song, it's one of my favorites. (There's also a great OAR song with the same title...coincidence?)

"Where I’m from we live like it’s the latest attraction"

What a great line. Have you ever heard the saying "All those who live, die; but not all who die, live"? I think Chris is saying that he and his friends are people who definitely LIVE. They're "action".
