Now
Don't just walk away
Pretending everythings okay and you don't care about me
And I know it's just no use
When all your lies become your truths and I don't care
Could you look me in the eye
And tell me that you're happy now, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Would you tell it to my face
Or have I been erased
Are you happy now?
Are you happy now?
You took all there was to take
And left me with an empty plate
And you don't care about it
Yeah
And I am giving up this game
And leaving you with all the blame
'Cause I don't care
Could you look me in the eye
And tell me that you're happy now, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Would you tell it to my face
Or have I been erased
Are you happy now? Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Are you happy now?
Are you happy now? Yeah yeah, yeah
Do you really have everything you want?
You could never give something you ain't got
You can't run away from yourself
Could you look me in the eyes
And tell me that you're happy now, yeah yeah
Come on tell it to my face
Or have I been replaced
Are you happy now? Yeah-yeah, yeah-yeah (are you happy now?) Oh-oh
(Are you happy now?) Yeah-yeah, oh-oh
Would you look me in the eye?
Could you look me in the eye?
I've had all that I can take
I'm not about to break
'Cause I'm happy now, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Are you happy now?
Don't just walk away
Pretending everythings okay and you don't care about me
And I know it's just no use
When all your lies become your truths and I don't care
Could you look me in the eye
And tell me that you're happy now, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Would you tell it to my face
Or have I been erased
Are you happy now?
Are you happy now?
You took all there was to take
And left me with an empty plate
And you don't care about it
Yeah
And I am giving up this game
And leaving you with all the blame
'Cause I don't care
Could you look me in the eye
And tell me that you're happy now, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Would you tell it to my face

Are you happy now? Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh

@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday".
I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988.
"'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it."
"There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

This song rocks my socks off.. She has a great way with expressing things..
I'm a guy and can relate to this song. Had a girlfriend of five years break up with me because I was struggling to get a place of my own and make ends meet. She wanted out of her parents house, broke up with me and started dating this guy and moved in with him almost instantly, then got married within 2 months. Heard she is living in a run down trailer park and is now having bad financial troubles. I am on the other hand got a great sales job, and average between $60K - $100K a year and live in a luxury apartment complex in a upscale part of town. And when she always used to talk about the future she always wanted the best. When I think about it in my head, the lyrics ring true, "Are you happy now?"
I just absolutely love it. It is awesome, and I really like how she just seems so taunting. But still, she's happy now.
This guy played so many games with me, cheated on his girlfriend with me and strung me along when he knew I wanted more from him. But when the truth came out he tells all his friends that I'm a liar and I'm crazy then cuts me out completely.
To me, this song is about a somebody (Michelle) through with the games and finally glad to be done but still pissed off. She sees that the person has seemed to move on but doesn't think they're happy and still regrets everything.
I can definately relate to this song, because I was lied to (although I didn't realize it) on the last day of my sophomore year of high school by a girl that I thought was my "friend" and liked me as "more than a friend", and I'll never know if she regretted it or not. I feel that this song perfectly expresses everything that I felt after I found out that she lied to me. Oh well, it's her loss for lying to me, and she'll eventually learn (if she hasn't already) that "whatever goes around, comes around".
Great song by Michelle! I love the attitude that comes from her. I was so excited when I first heard it and am anxious to see how her new album turns out when it is released. I know that it is a little more upbeat--it rocks on more. She is a great songwriter/singer and I feel that she will continue to grow musically. She can definitely not be compared to a "Britney Spears" recording artist!
This song rocks.
I love all of her songs.. when "Everywhere" came out, I went and got her CD's.. the lyrics actually mean stuff, and that's important. This song really means a lot to me.. it's so true. :D
I love her lyrics. and its even better to know that she writes them herself. It seems like they're always speaking to me
i totally agree with traciebear in that michelle will continue to grow musically. her first album was frikkin awesome with her songs about being in love and stuff and with this album i think she'll explore different aspects and make an even greater album~!
