"Daylight Dancer" as written by and Gary Louris....
Answer me, it can't be so hard
Cry to relieve what's in your heart
Desolation, grief and agony

Trying to move
Down in this grave
Trying to believe in every faith
As another bridge to clarity

Want to stay another way

Take another chance
To find a distant sanity
And turn your pain in truth
Take another chance
To fight a different enemy
And try to free it

Dance with me
It can't be so hard
Time to reveal
What's in your heart
Desolation
Grief and agony

Walking through a life decayed
While you're repeating
Your mistakes
There's another chance
To try to get away

Take another chance
To find a distant sanity
And turn your pain in truth
Take another chance
To fight a different enemy
And try to free it

General Commentsomehow this band always seems to write songs just about my life. like this siberian dude says, theres two people in the song, one who is a very open and lively spirit urging the other closed up and internally suffering person to lighten up and enjoy themselves, to get away, theres no need to clam yourself up when your not dead yet- were alive for a reason--TO FRIGGIN LIVE

General Commentit probably means that one person is trying to find out what's the other person is hiding, and the other person is trying to fight against him/her.

General CommentHmm yeah I believe it's about 2 people as well. the singer is trying to get the other to shed their crappy life, give up all their "desolation, grief, and agony" and just "dance with me".

General CommentI can agree with all that is said here. This is one of my favorite songs on this cd. The beginning of the song when the guitars kick in gives me such a rush when I hear it. Lacun Coil is amazing.

General CommentThis is way off base, but I hear this song and I think of a stripper. A daylight dancer who falls in love with a guy and wishes to escape her current life of desolation, only it isn't that easy.

I know. That's not was the song originally intended, but just look at it and think. It could make sense.

General CommentI agree with the first two meanings posted for this song but I have to say that this is one of my all-time favorites from Lacuna Coil - I love every second of this song.

General CommentWhen I listen to this song, i remember a story called "The tin soldier". The male voice representing the Tin Soldier, and the female voice, represents the Dancer in the music box.

I am not sure if the song, and the story are connected at all, but that's just what i feel when i listen to it.

My InterpretationThis song is the reason Lacuna Coil is my favourite band.

I kind of believe this song is about oneself. It IS called Daylight DANCER after all.

    Head vs. Heart.
