In regards to the meaning of this song:
Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.”
That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

I'm so glad the lyrics for this song is up...I've been listening to it nonstop ever since Tooth & Nail released it on their mp3.com page...it's an AMAZING song. 'Pride War' is awesome, also, but I really love this one. I love the line 'the sound now turns to silence...'; it's like hoping for something to stay, but despite your best intentions it just fades. It's good to see that FSF is still going strong after the loss of Chris Carrabba, maybe even stronger....Frankly, I think Jason Gleason better suits them as a lead singer, both on this track and when I saw them live in August. I can't wait 'til the new album is released on my birthday.
this song is so amazing, and yes Jason fits this band better than Chris. Chris is better off where he is anyways. He wanted fame, so he got it. Hopefully FSF wont bring that upon themselves by going on the radio/MTV, because everyone knows they are 100x better than everything played on the radio.

i can't wait for the new album either. when i first heard about this song and pride war being out, i didn't hesitate to listen to them. i have to say, i'm very satisfied with the sound each song has. i absolutely love the moon is down. it's just plain amazing, but yet it's also nice to hear new stuff from a band, and i agree with what you guys are saying. jason will definitely make further seems forever even better than before. they are just plain awesome.

The new album is awesome! One of the best things to come out of emo. Further Seems Forever is becoming one of the best...lets just hope they don't wind up on Krock or TRL like Chris...I think the Sounds about how things were great in a relationship but they've now "turned to silence" and he knows things will never back to how they were.
