Climb on top of all you despise
It's a better view from the lies
Two steps behind before I've begun
Time stops to tell me all I could have done
And I'll say

How long 'til the world will be completed?
How many times will history repeat it?
How long will it take?
How long?
How long?
I want to go
Will you show me the way?

I'd rather be wrong than be deceived
To thinking I believe
That I can stand to be here on my own
There's too many questions that we won't ask
In hopes that this, too, will pass
But how far down so we have to go before we know it

How long 'til the world will be completed?
How many times will history repeat it?
How long will it take?
How long?
How long?
I want to go
Will you show me the way?

How long 'til the world will be completed?
How many times will history repeat it?
How long will it take?
How long?
How long?
I want to go
Will you show me the way?

How long 'til the world will be completed?
How many times will history repeat it?
How long 'til the words fall to the pages?
How many times 'til all we can say is save us?

There's actually a typo in the lyrics that are posted here - it's "how long 'til the WORD will be completed" not "how long 'til the WORLD will be completed." Although I guess it doesn't really affect my interpretation.

This song is about waiting for the end of the age-it is possible the song is specifically talking about waiting for the rapture, one of the events leading up to the end of the world, as described in Revelation.

I think that wbyeager is right. It's about wanting to know when the end is going to happen. That so many times, things described in Revelation have happened. But how many times will history have to repeat itself 'till finally "all we can say is save us". Until the word is finally completed- referring to Revelation.

I think this is an awesome song to listen to. It certainly relieves stress as do a lot of Jason's songs.

First off, this is my favorite Lifehouse song. The vocals are incredible. As for what it means...possibly bout anticipation for Christ return. How long til we can be reunited w/ God. Its a song of anticipation and being anxious for the day we'll be w/ God.

I think it's about his faith. "I'd rather be wrong than be deceived into thinking that I can stand to be here on my own." He'd rather have faith without proof

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
