"The Endings" as written by and Simon Frank Grenehed Christian Thell Lindskog....
So you think that I could ride
This wave all the way through
So you think that I could just stand here
With nothing to hold on to
I can feel it, it's breaking, it's coming down
It's crashing down from up high
Can't see it, it's too big too fast
I've already shut eyes

The endings are all right?
The endings are all good?

What if I could reach inside
To take a deeper breath to see it's all right
What if I saw you at my side

I know I was made to go up this mountain
Every bone in my body tells me it's right
I know I was made to go up this mountain
But I'm getting scared of heights
Still I'll sleep to the sound of the monsters roar
'Cause I'll sleep next to your heartbeat forever

The endings are all right
The endings are all good

What if I could reach inside

General CommentThis is the best rock song on the cd. It has all the right elements. I don't know what the lyrics mean... most of the lyrics on Silence are pretty undefined and ambiguous. But this song just rocks. I love the background singing from Simon during the chorus. Very nice.

General Commentit's about him talking with God (as most of the songs on this CD) about being a christian in the music industry...

General CommentThis song is about the truth that everything comes to an end. In the beginning the song use a metaphor of riding on a wave, which comes crashing down and ends. And he is scared of it ending. HE is looking deep inside himself to try to overcome this fear and knows only if he has a special person at his side he can overcome the fear of endings. Next a metaphor of a mountain to climb is used. HE is trusting his instinct and climing it, but he is scared because he is so high up. But then he admit he would sleep to the sound of monster's roars if he can sleep next the heartbeat forever. Meaning with that special someone at his side he can handle any fears!

General CommentI agree with distant on that but also this is a song that meaning a lot to me as being about just trusting in God.
For me, he's talking to God about some situation in his life (eg the music industry and people seeing some idea about him or something) and stressing about that and feeling alone in that and questioning God - the endings are alright? the endings are all good? about whether God really is working things for good for him or not, then realising that God IS there, and the questions change to statements of faith - no ? marks :D
    that's just my $0.02 tho.

General CommentYeah, it's somewhere along those lines....

I would say it's more about how, no matter what happens, with God everything will turn out ok. It's just talking about how things might get a little sketchy for him, but when he looks inside, he knows God's with him, and "The endings are all right."

General CommentI don't know if things will always end up ok, but God will definitely take care of us even if its hard. The mountain is meant to be climbed and once you're at the top its over. You can't climb any higher. and you eventually have to come down (one way or another) and God will be there to guide us back down the mountain. Moses had to come back down Sinai to deliver the 10 Commandments and fufill the rest of his journey, so although we may not want to leave, sometimes we must and that brings us to the end of something and we are reminded that God is still beside us...

General Commenti agree with everyone here. when times are difficult, God will always be at your side.
but i think the last line should be "What if I could touch the sky"
either way this is my favorite Blindside song ever. and Blindside is my favorite band.
