As I recall when my stomach turned
And I was hiding away from myself
Away from you
Like nothing but something was terribly wrong
And I admit that I was only waiting for the right time (right time)
Right moment for you to look away
Though you never did I pretended for a while
So I could walk where I don't belong

I remember every word you said
Come back in time come back
And I remember I was too beaten
Pitiful so pitiful

But I know as they hammered those nails
Into your beautiful hands
Your eyes they tried to search for mine
But I look away
Now your eyes are the only thing that can save me
I'm still afraid of them piercin'
You break into my prison
Just pretended for a while
My soul is sad and I walk away

I remember every word you said
Come back in time come back
And I remember I was too beaten
Pitiful so pitiful

Pitiful
Pitiful
Pitiful
Pitiful
So pitiful

And I remember every word you said
But this time I won't look away
And I remember every word you said
And this time I won't look away

And I remember every word you said
Come back in time come back
And I remember I was so beaten
Pitiful so pitiful

And I remember every word you said (pitiful)
Come back in time come back (pitiful)
And I remember I was too beaten (pitiful)
Pitiful so pitiful

What this song means to ME (And I'm sure it means different things to everyone who listens to it, christian, atheist, or otherwise) is the horrible feeling of sin, and the hope, and the freedom that Jesus Christ offers. I've been a christian all my life, and I'm deeply in love with Jesus, but I'm not perfect. I fell into sin for about two years (pornography and masturbation). The thing about living a double life (The outside person who's so in love with God, and the inside person bound by sin and hopelessness) is the atmosphere that you live your life in. You feel hopeless, confused, ashamed... pitiful. (And let me clear up that it is not GOD Himself who makes you feel like this, it is YOU who condemns yourself, YOU who beats yourself up). See, you live your life feeling like a piece of dirt for continuing to betray the price that Jesus paid so that you don't HAVE to sin anymore. What almost makes it worst is that His (God's, Jesus') voice never goes away, His eyes never stop burning in jealousy for your heart; You realize that TRULY nothing, not even this great, tumultuous sin can separate you from His love for you, which makes you (make yourself) feel... pitiful. And you find yourself wanting to go back in time to that pinnacle moment that led you down this hellish road, so that you can scream at yourself not to do it. This song to me is a storyboard of what falling into sin looks and feels like after you've been so in love with Jesus. When you're on that horrid road you'll watch yourself hammer the nails into His hands, watch yourself betray those loving eyes, all the while not even daring to look Him in the face. But He'll still be there, waiting for you, pleading for you to except the exit He created in your prison. Because the truth is you'll never escape His voice calling you, or His eyes just looking and waiting to catch your own. You'll never run away from His love for you - there's no wall of any substance that could hide you from it. So you have a choice: Continue to force your gaze away from Him, or let His eyes save you.

He set me free, by the way. I'm no longer bound by pornography and masturbation. He set me free in a single heartbeat by His amazing grace (not by ANY strength of my own). He'll do the same for you too.

Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
