"Emerge" as written by and Casey Spooner Warren Fischer....
Hi
Huh-I
Hyper
Hyper-media-ocrity

[Chorus:]
You don't need to
Emerge from nothing
You don't need to
Tear away

You don't need to
Tear away

Feels good
Looks good
Sounds good
Looks good
Feels good too
Feels good too

(Uh-huh that's right)
Feels good too
(Uh-huh that's right)
You don't need to
Emerge from nothing
You don't need to
Tear away

[Chorus]

(Uh huh that's right)
(Uh huh that's right)
You don't need to
Emerge from nothing
You don't need to
Tear away

You don't need to
Emerge from nothing
You don't need to
Tear away

[Chorus: x2]

Look alive!
You don't need to
Emerge from nothing
You don't need to
Tear away

[Chorus: Repeats]

General CommentWhen I first heard this great song I thought it was an argument against people who try to prove the existence of God by saying "You can't have something emerge from nothing." Well, you don't have to emerge from nothing, right?

However now I think the song is just about mediocrity. You can be mediocre and it still feels pretty good. PRETT-AY, PRETT-AY, PRETT-AY, pretty good.

General CommentIf you were a buddhist you would understand this, It is about the emptiness and how you have emerged from it when you were born. All existence is suffering, so buddha was trying to say the same thing that this song. That you don't have to emerge from nothingness, in fact you never left it. You don't exist and life is just a dream. To see dream as reality is to suffer, to see dream as a dream is freedom. You don't have to emerge from nothingness and suffer - that is what it says. But people are to afraid of nothingness as it was their enemy. Ha! what a tragic mistake...

General CommentThis song is great. I don't know if the lyrics really have anything to do with how I feel, I think it's more about the ambient noise and then that bounce noise.
But anyways this song makes me feel like jumping up and making out.
I like the beginning when he's like "Hi"

General CommentThe synth bassline in this goes round in my head for ever. Incredibly catchy song. I saw the video and there are some audio/video synch tones (a single 'beep' noise with a white dot on the video - it's used to make sure the video and audio are time-synched correctly) in it that appear to have been left in the audio recording as well. Maybe they just liked the sound of them.

I suspect the lyrics were chosen to sound good against that killer synth hook, rather than have any meaning. They sure look bland in writing!
