"The Art Of American Football" as written by Matthew Davies, Kris Roberts and Darran Anthony Smith....
Shove- the momentum drags us under
Your constant disregard your constant aggravation
Tell me nothing but home truths
and you show me starvation
On a black and white screen,
this is your movie queen
Stop and think a second (tune in-tune out)
It's something more than nothing (drop in-drop out)

I see the way you lie to them (tune in-tune out)
All for the country you say (fuck them-fuck us)
Progress is the alternative to which we align
Hopeless intuition, raped between the lines
You tune in you tune out
Climbing a ladder fucked before we get out
You tune in you tune out
Climbing a ladder fucked before we get out
This system this lie

General Commentthe term tune in tune out (like my username and AIM name) is used for the trip u get while on acid. i think its comparing the illusions you get on acid to the ones tv is using to control americans, through thigns people get overly excited about- such as american football. superbowl party, my house, be there.

General Commenti donno if this posted twice, if so sorry. but what i was saying is that the term tune in tune out , drop in drop out is refered to the trip you get hwile on acid. i think the song is refereing the illusions u get while on acid, to the way TV controls americans through things like football. speaking of which, superbowl party anyone?

General CommentTo be quite honest I think the whole 'Amercian Football' thing is used as a metaphor. I think the song seems to be about the current system we live in. Maybe the educational system. Just one of few amazing songs by FFAF before they went shit.

General Commentwhen i saw them at reading they said this was a romantic song, something about two people getting to gether just for kisses and sex, at the time they played it they got two people from the audience to kiss while they played the song.

General Commentone of the best bands off all time that you probably don't know about is American Football. i doubt funeral for a friend named their song after this band, but if they did, it would make funeral for a friend a million times more respectable.

there seems to be a lot of different stories behind this song. it probably doesn't mean anything.

General CommentWow, and I bet none of you can give a reason why the education system is corrupt. Rebel without a cause, literally.
