Secrets in here
Claim no belonging
Together again
Or send me to madness
I know
That I should have listened
Was given a choice
I turned down forever

No
So tell me, are you lonely?
So tell me, are you

Emptier still?
As time takes us farther
Away from the goals
By which we are measured
I know
That I should have stayed true
To you and to me
But time never heals
So here alone I stand

So tell me, are you lonely?
So tell me, are you mine?

I see you standing there
Your face against the wall
So turn right around
Turn right around

I who know your deepest fear
And yet you walk away
So turn right around
Turn right around

So tell me, are you lonely?
So tell me, are you mine?
Don't speak, for you are me

General CommentThe electronic pulses and really distant-sounding vocals really give a feeling of distance, of a forever-lost existence in eternal void of solitude. And yes, while it is much like a conversation with one's demon, this "post-void" feeling really makes it seem like the person in question has "turned down...a choice...forever," and now they are stuck with their hidden despair.

...I think this is the first Dark Tranquillity song I've fully understood. At the very least, it's one hell of an emotional and musical ride.

General CommentI think this is gon is about a conversation between a man an his demon.

For example when in the clean vocals part, the guy mentions choices he should have made, but took the wrong path, the demon comes to claim the victim with:

SO TELL ME ARE YOU LONELY?

General Commentit does seem like a man who is talking to himself or a part of himself...
"I who know your deepest fear" Who knows your deepest fears better than yourself?

General CommentAmong the best DT lyrics.
So strange, singing about ourself in this way.
I think it's about all the things that we are afraid and surround us in life,
the clear voice is the lost part of the writer,
the growling one is the one that is aware of the emotions, tries to prove a point to the weak part,
but throughout the whole song, both parts speak that they cannot be whole, if they are separated...
    my guess :)
