let's get the fuck out of here, it's like a congregation.
from every drink's glass drips condensation.
she's got her jacket on her back.
we put our last drinks back
and hit the first red light.

no one moves; no one stands

red-lip-sticks on her drink glass

he's gone for three nights, come on.
he's gone for three nights, come on.
come on come on come on

i got somewhere else to be!

General Commentthe meaning of this song is almost all in the music rather than the lyrics.

the lyrics set you up with the scenario in the first stanza: they are leaving some boring place, they take a drink and hit a red light.

now the music...notice the music slows to a pace anticipating the green light. the drums are hit, signalling that the light is green. the music picks up, and they're off...into the city with not a care in the world. they are looking at all the city lights and enjoying life to its full extent.

the rest of the song i cant fully understand though. any ideas?

My InterpretationI don't think he's trying to convince her.. I mean it's obvious they've already decided to "get the fuck outta here" (left the party) and are going to his/her place, or whatever. My interpretation is he's talking to the red light.. I mean, who doesn't? "Come on, come on." Hurry up and turn green so we can fuck because her boy's gone for three nights! YEeeeeaaah

General CommentIt seems to me that he's with someone else's girl, and the guy's gone for three days. She should hurry up and make the decision of whether she wants to go with him or not, because he's "got somewhere else to be".

General CommentYeah i agree with killthenormal, hes with someone elses girl and the "comon comon comon, ive got somewhere else to be" is saying to you wanna be with me or him, make up your mind, ive got somewhere else to be sorta thing. Maybe not exactly like that, but along those lines.

On the musical side of things, i think its structered perfectly to match the lyrics, especially loving the harder jammy bit near the end.
