Then we hear a whistle,
Like a boson's pipe.

And the carnival immediately begins.
Gradually mixing
Penny arcade

Babylon fading.

General Commenti think babylon is like the ideal promised land. america had the potential 2 b the new babylon but amid all the squalor its fading.

its especially potent when we think about the hippie movement back then, they had the potential 2 really change the world 4 the better but 4 the most part they pissed it away thru drugs and selling out

    babylon fading around us

General Commentthat is a good analogy...babylon being any kingdom (i.e. America) where material possesions and war overtake peace and spirituality...such a civilization is bound to fail.

My InterpretationSounds sort of Spanish. But Babylon was in modern day Iraq. Perhaps Jim was reffering to America slowly become more and more diseased (no offense intended).
