Those seducers [4x]
Bombed out lovers, gallant red flocks of mellow seducers, fine [find?] eager seekers, deep deef down
Beautiful lines from above and we're all a-glow
Raise her head and things get warm, hold on to its leg, before it flies away
Sun lit walks, I feel no harm, my primitive words match my primitive heart [hide?]

it's not as easy as it may seem, remember that yourself is steam

[chorus] and of course it don't mind, chasing a bee inside a jar [x2]

Then like sheep led to sacrifial slaughter, they don't mind, but they oughta, all the time (they oughta)
Their pretty shells are so inviting, well protected
Their eyes are rivers, they give me shivers

[chorus]

it's not time for the real life [live?] sign, it's not time for these fears of mine [x2]
I'm feeling troubled, I'm feeling trapped, can't shake that bubble off my back

it's not as easy as it may seem, remember that yourself is steam [x2]

it's not time for the real life sign, it's not time for these fears of mine
I'm feeling troubled, I'm feeling trapped, can't shake that bubble off my back
I feel no harm, I feel no harm, ...feel no harm

[chorus]

its not as easy as it may seem, remember that yourself is steam

what once was lost will never be found, keep spinning in circles until you break new ground

"Yerself is steam" (say it slow) refers to how your self-esteem is very fragile and can be lost forever.

"Chasing a bee inside a jar" is probably the perfect way to describe insanity. Throughout the whole song, he includes phrases about being lost, trapped or the need to find something. The song is also clearly about mind-altering drugs, like how our consciousness is but steam in distance as we chase bees in a jar.

The song has many meanings and it's nearly incomprehensible. There are so many details like yerself is steam meaning your self-esteem I can't fully break down this song.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
