A warrior so proud of the woman by his side,
His faithful heart would take no other bride,
For three years they lived,
Midst the forests of the land,
Strong and proud was the love
Of this woman and man

Like the sky high above,
No beginning and no end,
The woman that he loves,
His life and best friend.
Until that day in December
When the snowstorms did start,
Stalked the Norseman with his bow,
Put an arrow through his heart.

Hear the cry, the cry of the winter wind,
Blowing across the land,
Stealing his life from him,
From the earth, and into the otherworld,
The land of Tír Na n-Óg,
Is the place where he must go.

"Woman come to my side,
Let your arms shield my pain,
For I know will not spend
Another day with you again."
They say she will not move
From the place where he did die,
Once so strong and so proud,
She cannot talk but cry.

ooooo, nice. I wonder what the song sounds like? The meaning sounds like it is self-explanatory to me, unless there is some hidden meaning I didn't get.

Hidden meanings? not really. But I can't help but wonder if the band had those old Roman statues in mind when they wrote these lyrics. mlahanas.de/Greeks/Arts/Pergamon/DyingGaul.jpg utexas.edu/courses/introtogreece/lect35/ad%20Dying%20Mrs.%20Gaul.jpg

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
