What's all this talk about
Planning for the crisis
I'm not thinking like that at all
Smiling faces are my, my Dionysis
I'm not thinking clear at all...

Oh, love the crazy one, but
I know what you're thinking
'Cause it's not looking great right now
So what's this talk about
Planning for the crisis
I'm not thinking like that at all, at all...

Yeah, as much as I can say
It's hard for me to stay away
Ever and ever
Yeah, as far as any eye can see
You're looking pretty fine to me
Better and better
Yeah, as far as I can tell
We're on the road to brighter hell
Over and over
Yeah, as far as I can tell,
We're on the road to brighter hell

Fade out, turn me up,
Wrap your mind around me
For all and every one to see
What would you say falling from a building
So far so free
So far so free...

Yeah, as much as I can say
It's hard for me to stay away
Ever and ever
Yeah, as far as any eye can see
You're looking pretty fine to me
Better and better
Yeah, as far as I can tell
We're on the road to brighter hell
Over and over
Yeah, as far as I can tell,
We're on the road to brighter hell

Yeah, as much as I can say
It's hard for me to stay away
Ever and ever
Yeah, as far as any eye can see
You're looking pretty fine to me
Better and better
Yeah, as far as I can tell
We're on the road to brighter hell
Over and over
Yeah, as far as I can tell,
We're on the road to brighter hell

General CommentI have no idea what this song is about, but it's just great - so mournful, and yet with so much hope - maybe a failing relationship or life endeavour, and the speaker is trying to see a way out of with his love or friend.

    General CommentIt's a song about a breakup.

"What's all this talk about planning for the crisis? I'm not thinking like that at all" (Doesn't see the breakup coming... It sidetracks him)

"Smiling faces are my Dionysus (Greek God of ecstasy/drunkeness) I'm not thinking clear at all!"

He's saying that the breakup is killing him
"What would you say falling from a building?" (Cause he feels like he's falling from one)

He's saying that he misses and still wants the relationship. "It's hard for me to stay away/You're looking pretty fine to me!"

But he's also saying that despite being in Hell, He's on his way to a better place... Brighter Hell... In the end they're both gonna be in a better place, but they're for now they're both still on that ugly road to Brighter Hell.

Absolutly great song... The Watchmen's best by far! Gotta love the keyboard in the beginning!
