"My Deliverer" as written by Chad Robert Cates, Tony W. Wood and Jason Walker....
Joseph took his wife and her child and they went to Africa
To escape the rage of a deadly king
There along the banks of the Nile, Jesus listened to the song
That the captive children used to sing
They were singin'

My Deliverer is coming, my Deliverer is standing by
My Deliverer is coming, my Deliverer is standing by

Through a dry and thirsty land, water from the Kenyon heights
Pours itself out of Lake Sangra's broken heart
There in the Sahara winds Jesus heard the whole world cry
For the healing that would flow from His own scars
The world was singing

My Deliverer is coming, my Deliverer is standing by
My Deliverer is coming, my Deliverer is standing by
He will never break His promise, He has written it upon the sky
My Deliverer is coming, my Deliverer is standing by

My Deliverer is coming, my Deliverer is standing by
My Deliverer is coming, my Deliverer is standing by
I will never doubt His promise though I doubt my heart, I doubt my eyes
My Deliverer is coming, my Deliverer is standing by

My Deliverer is coming, my Deliverer is standing by
My Deliverer is coming, my Deliverer is standing by
He will never break His promise though the stars should break faith with the sky
My Deliverer is coming, my Deliverer is standing by

My Deliverer is coming, my Deliverer is standing by
My Deliverer is coming, my Deliverer is standing by
My Deliverer is coming, my Deliverer is standing by
My Deliverer is coming, my Deliverer is standing by
My Deliverer is coming, my Deliverer is standing by
My Deliverer is coming, my Deliverer is standing by

My Deliverer is coming

General CommentI love that last one-line verse: He will NEVER break His promise, THOUGH THE STARS SHOULD BREAK FAITH WITH THE SKY! Everything else in the whole wide world can fall apart but His promise remains.

General CommentPlease correct this entirely incorrect correct article conflating two entirely different songs. My Deliverer as written by Jason Walker Chad Robert Cates (CCLI#5215517) in 2008 has no relation to the song co-written by Rich Mullins and Rich McVicker over 10 years earlier (published in 1998, CCLI# 2598945). The lyrics provided are for the latter, the Mullins/McVicker song. The lyrics for the former song by Jason, et. al., are as follows:

    Intro

    My Deliverer
    Ba-da ba-da ba-da ba-da ba-da
    Ba-da ba-da

    My Deliverer
    Ba-da ba-da ba-da ba-da ba-da
    Ba-da ba-da

    Verse 1

    I was so helpless
    Where did the light go
    I had no hope left
    Deep down in my soul

    Pre-Chorus

    I was watching
    I was waiting
    I was praying
I was staying down on my knees
That's right where You found me

    Chorus 1

    My Deliverer
    You rescued me
From all that held me captive
    My Deliverer
    You set me free
Now I'm alive and I can live
    So ev'ry moment
    I will give You praise
    My Deliverer
    Ooh my Deliverer

    Verse 2

    'Cause there's no pretending
    I can't do it myself
    I'm so dependent
    Lord I need Your help

    Chorus 2

    My Deliverer
    You rescued me
From all that held me captive
    My Deliverer
    You set me free
Now I'm alive and I can live
    And ev'ry moment
    I will give You praise

    Bridge

La la la la la I need You
You know whatever I'm going through
    I'll be watching
    I'll be waiting
    I'll be praying
I'll be staying down on my knees
That's right where You'll find me
    My Deliverer
    My Deliverer

    Chorus 3

    My Deliverer
    You rescued me
From all that held me captive
    My Deliverer
    You set me free
    Now I can live
    My Deliverer
    I'm no longer captive
    My Deliverer
You gave Your life that I mighty live
    So ev'ry moment
    I will give You praise
    Yeah my Deliverer

    Ending

    I'm gonna give You praise
    I'm gonna give You praise
    My Deliverer
