The sea it swells like a sore head.
And the night it is aching.
Two lovers lie with no sheets on their bed.
And the day it is breaking.

On rainy days we'd go swimming out,
On rainy days swimming in the sound.
On rainy days we'd go swimming out.

You're in my mind
All of the time,
But I know it's not enough.
If the sky can crack,
There must be some way back
For love and only love.

Electrical storm,
Electrical storm,
Electrical storm.

Baby don't cry.

Car alarm,
Won't wrench him back to sleep.
You're kept awake
Dreaming someone else's dream.
Coffee is cold,
But it'll get you through.
Compromise,
That's nothing new to you.

Lets see colours that have never been seen,
Let's go to place's no one else has been.

You're in my mind
All of the time,
I know that's not enough.
Well if the sky can crack,
There must be some way back
For love and only love.

Electrical storm,
Electrical storm,
Electrical storm.

Baby don't cry.

It's hot as hell, honey, in this room.
Sure hope the weather will break soon.
The air is heavy, heavy as a truck.
Need the rain to wash away our bad luck.

Well if the sky can crack,
There must be some way back
To love and only love.

Electrical storm,
Electrical storm,
Electrical storm.

Baby don't cry,
Baby don't cry.
Baby don't cry.

General CommentI read on the official site what Bono said about this song, he says that it's about a couple sitting in a room and that the pressure of their relationship can be felt in the air. He was also talking about drawing inspiration from September 11. An awesome song and a great new single.

General CommentHey, I actually have heard this song! A radio station in my state actually has a copy of it. Let me just let you guys know, it's a good tune. As for the meaning, I think it's about a couple whom have either broken up, or aren't on speaking terms, or whom are far away from each other. One of them is reflecting upon it and is hoping for a new day, for the bad luck to just wash away. Perhaps Bono or Edge wrote it about thier relationships...that's only a possibly...

General CommentTo tell you the truth, I haven't quite worked the meaning out yet, I just think it's an excellent tune.
Not quite a U2 classic, but hey, it's better than anyone else could do! :p

General CommentThis is a great song. While it is not up there with some of the U2 classics from the 80's, I think it's right below them.

General Commentits not supposed to be up there with the 80s stuff!
its an addition to the 90s stuff seeing as its going on their 1990-2000 best of! its supposed to sound like a mix of their recent "all that u cant leave behind" stuff and their psycadelic 90s music. i think ppl who like U2 for their 80s work are very misguided. their best work has been achtung baby onwards.

General CommentSince I first heard this song I was desperate to obtain it, so I went to lengths to wait for it to come on the radio so I could record it on MiniDisc. It was well worth my trouble. I never really had a clue about this song's meaning until now, so I could see someone else's opinion. Good song though, probably from the 'Pop' era.

General Commentdulcarama's right about the meaning.
Anyone seen the vid. it's just unbelieveable
I nearly cried when I heard this first. Taped it and spent the whole night replaying it. Totally up there with the greats.
