a change in your voice
was all that i heard
a quivering breathe
a pause in word
a shadow that suddenly
covered my eyes
a ripple in water
quite smooth otherwise

you tried to go back
and pave over the road
where an intake of breathe
had punctured my soul

let me know
let me know
i need to know

a moment of silence
it now seems absurd
but i learn so much
from a pause in a word

every bird on the wing
leads the others along
inside your flock of words
something went wrong

i dont think that i
was expecting a lie
i just saw them pass me
and one couldnt fly

let me go
let me go

i dont think that i
was expecting a lie
i just saw them pass me
and one couldnt fly

let me go
let me go
i need to go

    General CommentI think it's pretty obvious what this is about. He is speaking to someone, perhaps a significant other or just a friend, who has lied to them. The person was caught in the lie by hesitating, catching a breath, pausing in word. That one word didn't fly past him like the rest of the lies, he saw through it. He's obviously upset because he had no idea this person had been lying to him and now all of a sudden things have changed.
    That's pretty much the jist of it.
