"Car Wash Hair" as written by and Jonathan Donahue....
Wanna ask but I just stare
Can I run my hands through your car wash hair [2x]

drillin' a hole with my soul
In the sand
Diggin' for gold
For the hole [whore?], in the bed
Catchin' a ride from a band
I sat in the back of the van
They tried to make me understand
'cause if I'm not in a band, don't mean I'm square
And if I am, well then I don't care

wanna ask but I just stare
Can I run my hands through your car wash hair

number two has got me confused
Hope I'll always be numbers one and three [2x]

wanna ask but I just stare
Can I run my hands through your car wash hair [2x]

drillin' a hole with my soul
In the sand
Diggin' for gold
For the ho, in the bed
Catchin' a ride from a band
I sat in the back of the van
They tried to make me understand
That if I'm not in a band, doesn't mean I'm square
And if I am, well then I don't care

wanna ask but I just stare
Can I run my hands through your car wash hair [2x]

you said, hell, well I don't care
If you run your hands through my car wash hair
Wanna ask but I just stare
Can I run my hands through your car wash hair
You said, hell, well I don't care
If you run your hands through my car wash hair
Wanna ask but I just stare
Can I run my hands through your car wash hair
You said, hell, well I don't care
If you run your hands through my car wash hair
Wanna ask but I just stare
Can I run my hands through your car wash hair

General CommentThis song reminds me of having sex with Deadheads. If you live out of the back of a VW Microbus the only place you can wash your hair is at one of those self-service car washes with the high-pressure hoses. And, as we all know, Deadhead chicks will pretty much bang any dude/chick so this guy is saying the chick he banged in the back of her VW slept with a chick in between times sleeping with him. Well, that's what I choose to believe anyway.

General CommentA song with a sound that produces visions of epic proportions, but really is just about wanting to run your hands through someone's alluring car wash hair. I don't really know what is meant by this song but somehow I think it's buried in the amusing words "number two has got me confused ... hope I'll always be numbers one and three."

General Commentone of the very first MR songs that I had the pleasure of hearing. It was one of those songs that I could have alone on Winamp and on repeat lol.

I picture the hair, the moment, the anxiety.

General CommentOne of my first Rev songs, too.

I think when he says he hopes he'll always be numbers one and three, he's saying he doesn't want to be an in-between relationship. He wants to be the beginning and/or the end. He doesn't want to be in a rebound, transitional relationship, one that has no promise and no passion.

maybe he dosnt like to be in the middle of things, hence the reason he dosent wanna be number two as its in the midldle. ive tried and tried to think of what it could possibly mean but nothing other than that comes to mind at the momoent

General CommentOh, I really like the idea about him not being a stepping stone to another love affair that you've identified. @ dream of horses!
