"Sober (Tool cover)" as written by Daniel Carey, Paul D'amour, Adam Jones and Maynard / Keenan....
Every shadow just behind me
Shrouding every step I make
Breaking every promise empty
Pointing every finger at me

Waiting like a stalking butler
Who upon the finger rests
Murder now the path has lost me
Just because the sun has set

Jesus was a fucking whistler
Nothing but the past is done
Jesus, motherfucking whistler
Nothing but the past is done

Why can't we not be sober?
I just want to start this over
Why can't we sleep forever?
I just want to start this over

I am just a worthless liar
I am just an imbecile
I will only complicate you
Trust in me and fall as well

I will find a center in you
I will chew it up and leave
I will work to elevate you
Just enough to bring you down

Mother Mary was a whisper
Nothing but the past is done
Mother was fucking whistler
Nothing but the past is done

Why can't we not be sober?
I just want to start this over
Why can't we drink forever?
I just want to start this over this time

I am just a worthless liar
I am just an imbecile
I will only complicate you
Trust in me and fall as well

I will find a center in you
I will chew it up and leave
Trust me, trust me, trust me, trust me, trust me

Why can't we not be sober?
I just want to start this over
And why can't we drink forever?
I just want to start this over this time

I want what I want
I want what I want
I want what I want
I want what I want

General CommentI heard a soft version and a harder version of Staind playing this. But the harder version was in crappy quality.

General Commentthis song would only sound good if tool does it. staind needs to leave this one alone.

General CommentSorry, I have to agree with Dimmu. It pales in comparison to the original Tool version, although I am a big fan of Staind nonetheless. Not a bad idea to do a cover, but this song doesn't work for them.

General Commentof course Tool's is better but Staind always sings from the heart and this song's lyrics look very similar to something Aaron Lewis would write. he did a good job.
