Learning ways to fly,
Just never too high to die,
Pushing limits into the ground
Until I never come down
Burning through lifetimes without form
Pure energy, I am the shattered norm

I'm the lost one chasing colors to the sun
Colors bleed but never fade
I'll just fade away

To swim these sentient seas,
Windows into eternity,
Never afraid to scale the wall
The lunatic never falls
Forfeiture of reality seeds sewn,
Constructive of this path is not my own

I'm the lost one chasing colors to the sun
Colors bleed but never fade
I'll just fade away

Why should I come down?
From here I can see forever...

I'm the lost one chasing colors to the sun
Colors bleed but never fade
I'll just fade away

Remember in the end.
Such a long, strange trip it's been
So I sing this song
For the lost one

Why should I come down?
From here I can see forever
I can see forever
I can see...

General CommentThis song is most certainly about acid. It says it quite clearly "Such a long, strange trip it's been", "Chasing colors to the sun". "The lunatic never falls", basically means that when you're tripping, you feel invincible. You'll do anything without fear. When Warrel wrote, "Why should I come down? from here, I can see forever," he probably meant that he found an escape and excitement in his trips. "So I sing this song for the lost one" could mean that he was aware of people who, indeed, never "came down." Very cool song. Definitely one to play while dropping acid ! ;)

General CommentDoes anyone know who plays what solo in this song and when? I'm trying to figure out when Jeff and Pat solo, because this is one of those albums which annoyingly doesn't give that info.

General CommentFor once, I'll agree about a song being about drugs (or more specifically, acid). I think just about every song (not all) is about drugs in some way or another. Plus, look at the layout for the cd...

General CommentYes, Warrel is (was?) on drugs....specifically LSD. Hence the song on their first album about Timothy Leary.
