At One,
I was sitting and thiking of all the beautiful things he could have become,
Instead of a lyrical oracle
and I'm a most appreciative one,
'Cause i'm in a world of my own, when I'm into it,
And I don't want anything else,
And nothing can bother me,
when I'm inside of me,
'cause I'm outside of myself

Midnight Marauder spinning on my stereo,
Mr. Desmond Deker got a crown made of gold,
The kids are alright,
A-what a-what I hear,
London calling, but I have no fear
Miss Ella Fitzgerald got no peer,
The music sweet music make the truth so clear
Classics of love make a dark day light,
If you don't believe the words,
then just look into their eyes

Sun shining, Sun shining,
Sun shining,Shining down,
on a cloudy day,
I know those songs gonna last forever,
that's what I say

At two
I'm running around in my mind,
And my mind's a fucking zoo
One of the ones, under the gun
wondering "what do I do?"
Ever feel the same way
Slave to the brain waves
brave if you pave ways
Through to the true you
If you take me out, please don't forget to take me home,
If you take me to a party, don't forget the microphone,
If we take my car then please don't try to touch the radio,
'Cause the midnight sun is burning bringing peace into my soul

Sun shining, sun shining
sun shining, shining down
On a cloudy day,
I know those songs gonna last forever,
That's what I say

Calling, Calling,
Now I'm listening to the classics of love
In the day or night,
You got the power, radiate and fade
You got the vibe, make you feel alright
Come on

Sun shining, sun shining,
sun shining, shining down
on a cloudy day,
I know those songs gonna last forever
Sun shining, sun shining
sun shining, shining down
on a cloudy day,
I know those songs gonna last forever,
That's what I say

General CommentLet me just start off by saying I love this song. It's a great song. It kind of acknowledges (spelling?) a few of Jesse Michaels influences i.e.Joe Strummer (London Calling) Desmond Dekker (Midnight Marauder). From the title you would expect just a simple love song, but that is something it definitely isn't. In my opinion this song is about Jesse Michaels love for music.

General CommentMr. Desmond Deker got a crown made of gold...clever that is if you think about it! I didn't get it at first, and even before that, I didn't know who this Desmond deker was. I just started listening to him, ahhh amazing music is all I can say. Then I put it all together..this man, Mr. Desmond Deker is the king of ska, a big influence to many of ska bands such as Common Rider, so therefore he wears this crown because he is king, king of ska!
Well besides that, this is an amazing song, and I agree with the person who posted above..I think that this song also shows Jesse's love for music. This song just makes me love music even more than I already love music because it is a song that shows love for music. Beutiful!

General CommentI love this song. Common Rider is unbelievable. Jesse Michaels is my favorite lyricist and I'm glad he wrote something positive with them after all the depressing lyrics he wrote with operation ivy. I'm really surprised there are so many fans of these guys on here. No one even knows who they are where I'm from. :( It took me over a year just to find last wave rockers

General CommentWhen he says "Midnight Marauder spinning on my stereo" is that a reference to A Tribe Called Quest cause i can't find any other musical references with that title?
