we went to the cape
the summer had passed
there were off-season rates

the smokestack we adored
sat and blew smoke
like never before

up into the atmosphere
where the sky is blue and clear
and every plane's a little stain
our wipers wiped away the acid rain

and when i came back it had wasted away
by it i mean most of the best part of day
i promised to quit if you promised to stay
you packed up your shit my life remained the same
the same...

General CommentI really love the middle-end of this song, where they do the cool buzzy sounding guitar and he sings the last section "and when i came back... the same"

I especially love the way he sings "i promised to quit if you promised to stay"

the lyrics themselves seem pretty self-explanatory.
