Who was your favorite teacher in high school
Don’t forget the last four of your social
Keep your head down all that you want
We’ve got what we need
We saw what you did
And we see what you’re doing
You think you’re keeping it all hidden don’t you
But we can see what you’re doing
Check your email what was that last thing that you did a search for
Is it something you’d want us to see
Who was that you talked to just now on your cell phone
Does your boss know what you’ve been up to
Keep your head down all that you want
We’ve already got everything that we came for
Cause we saw what you did
And we see what you’re doing
You think you’re keeping it all hidden don’t you
But we can see what you’re doing
If you want it private
Probably best not to post it
If it’s really a secret
You’re the best one to keep it
If you want it private
Probably best not to post it
If it’s really a secret
You’re the best one to keep it
Keep your head down all that you want
We’ve already got everything that we came for
Cause we saw what you did
And we see what you’re doing
You think you’re keeping it all hidden don’t you
But we can see what you’re doing
We can see what you're doing
We can see what you're doing
We can see what you're doing
What are you doing

At first I thought of it as a song about critics of the band in the early days.

I always thought this was about corrupt politicians and bad cops.

The "Tryin' to run the town" lyric reminds me a lot about home. Granted I lived in a medium-sized town, but I've been to a lot of small towns. Whenever I hear this song, I think about some old hillbilly trying to tell everyone what the right thing is. Small towns can be some of the worst places to live with people like that. And it's usually a group of people.

    My Interpretation

Seems like the song is about someone who is trying to be the best at everything (try'n to run the town)and making everyone else feel like a lesser being than him. (always try'n' to put us down) However in the end, he is actually failing and attempting to make excuses which he also fails at.

Holiday

@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
