I got the message long before you said you knew
There was no chance of us at all
With no velocity and empty headed hard and far too long
I spent two years alone with you

Just when I thought I had forgotten
You came back soft without a sound

You said we were an accident
With accidents you never know what could have been
So we were an accident
You'll always be my favorite one

You hit the road and left me an ocean
I can't swim in the silence of your skin skin Please let me in-
Side the times we never had right
Inside two years alone with you

You said we were an accident
With accidents you never know what could have been
So we were an accident
You'll always be my favorite one

We could have been
We could have been
Instead of accidental running always running
Why can't you believe

Long winded promises of future company
Up close the sound remains the same
Without the reign of terror over every momentary change
We are exactly as before

You hit the road and left me an ocean
I can't swim in the silence of your skin skin Please let me in-
Side the time I had to forget you
Inside no chance of us at all

this song is amazing, even if the lyrics arent perfect (which i dont think they are, but hey...close enough to get the point!) i love mcs, i think they are original...they really have their own sound. It's awesome! everyone should hear this song.

superelk1, you really know how to ruin a song. Why is it so important to know the meaning of a song anwyays? It is left open for self interuptation but I highly doubt he is just being perverted. You're simple minded and it is annoying.

Whereas this isn't what the song is necessarily supposed to be about, I like to think of it as even when a relationship goes terribly wrong and you end up alone, then sure, it was all an accident, but maybe it was worth making for all the good times you had before it all went to hell.

ok superlk1, you forgot the part "please let me in"! Obviously she has shut him out and he can't handle the silence. So "you hit the road and left me an ocean" thats gotta be tears. The skin part i am uncertain about...it could be that he can't be around her when she's silent, its sorta as if all that's next to him is skin...i dont know....thats what i think.

I always thought he was saying "I can't swim in the silence of your escape, escape... please let me in" That makes more sense to me... She escaped him, and he's drowning in tears and he wants back in her life. But if he's actually saying "skin" then I have no idea...

well uys here's what i think ... when he says "you left me an ocean" he means a myriad of opportunity and whe he says " I can't swim" he uses a pun to explain how he is drowning , or lost without her ...

uhm..... Remember george michael's faith? "Before this river becomes an ocean" Was referring to a river/ocean of tears

That's pretty much what this is You hit the road and left me an ocean (of tears)

"I can't swim in the silence of your skin" means I can't swim/last in the silence/absence of your skin/presence

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America.
