"Days go By (acoustic)" as written by and Steve/horn Smith....
You
You
You
You
You

You
You
You
You
You
You is still a whisper on my lips
A feeling at my fingertips
That's pulling at my skin

You
You leave me when I'm at my worst
A feeling as if I've been cursed
Bitter cold within

Days go by and still I think of you
Days when I couldn't live my life without you
Days go by and still I think of you
Days when I couldn't live my life without you
Without you

Without you
You are still a whisper on my lips
A feeling at my fingertips
That's pulling at my skin

You leave me when I'm at my worst
A feeling as if I've been cursed
Bitter cold within

Days go by and still I think of you
Days when I couldn't live my life without you
Without you

Without you
Days go by and still I think of you
Days when I couldn't live my life without you
Days go by and still I think of you
Days when I couldn't live my life without you
Without you

Without you
Without you
Without you
Days go by
Days go by-why-why
Days go by-why-why
Days go by
Days go by-why-why
Days go by-why-why

General Commenti believe it 's about a guy, who lost his girl friend in a auto accident. he dances to bring back her spirit/ghost. to in someway, stay connect to her. i also think it a soug about guilt. he feels responiable for her death.(maybe he caused the accident, he was driving)

General CommentI think this song is about trying to forget somone u realy love, i mean, its just like he says.
You just cant forget her, talking about her "whisper on my lips"
and so on, its just the way u feel when somone leaves u

General CommentTo me, it's about someone leaving him, and wishing she was still there, wishing she was just more than a whisper on his lips and a feeling in his fingertips. I love this acoustic version a lot more than the normal dance version. For some reason, it's almost impossible to find the album acoustic version on the internet

General Commenti know it prolly doesnt mean this but i like to think of it like getting over an addiction. you had to do it to live and now you still want it but know that you cant. for me, i see it as cutting. the "feeling at my fingertips" and the "pullin at my skin" reminds me of the feeling that you want to cut but you know that you cant.

General CommentMan, I adore this version so much. Ever since I first heard it. May be short, but it's poignant. Powerful.

The vocals are so reminiscent of Neil Finn (specifically, of early Crowded House). I wish I could find the "radio edit" that has the underlying percussion beat (NOT the one on the acoustical guitar versions, though, they're obviously beautiful.) The percussion is just a touch bit stronger, and it lends an overall different feel to the song. Sort of like the different versions of "Mad World" released by Gary Jules for the "Donnie Darko" OST. Sometimes you want a bit more of a beat, sometimes you don't. ;) Speaking of the percussion, it's also very Guster-like. Dirty Vegas definitely landed a hit with this track!

Now, then. I agree with the sentiment that the narrator is longing for a loved one; be it that they're since over, or they've lost them in some tragic way. Despite the manner or method, he's reflective, thoughtful and pensive.

Just love it. Mildly cinematic, too. You can just see him driving down the road of a sleepy town, maybe rising from the winter's frost, where he and his love spent the summer ... A song for memories.

General CommentUlp! Forgive me, everyone. Was having a bit of a cognitive nap, there. I'm listening to both versions carefully, and I'm going to bet that this new version I've found, "Days Go By" (Guitar Version) is indeed the track I spoke of. The percussion is different, and 0:04 into the song it has a bit of synth. It is NOT the same as the "acoustic" version.

Now, I HIGHLY recommend it! Much more polished. Perhaps, if you e-mail me (and be sure to put something in the subject line regarding Songmeanings, etc. so the spam filtre doesn't eat it up) I'll see what I can do about finding it for you. -nudge, nudge, wink, wink-

General CommentThe Dolphin Trance Mix is a great version. I was first introduced to this song in the Mitsubishi commercial.

Back in 2002 I had the experience of knowing some very serious drug addicts. These drug addicts identified with this song heavily and told me that the true meaning of this song was about drug addiction.

Days go by and still I think about you..... Days when I couldn't live my life without you. (drugs).

    You
Feel me when I'm at my Worst
Feeling as if I've been Cursed
    Bitter Cold Within

Sounds like when he's at his worst is when the drugs feel him or he feels them.

Still a whisper on my Lips (crack cocaine/heroine)
A feeling at my Finger Tips (the feeling)
Pullin at my Skin (itchy feeling those drugs give you)

    And in the Acoustic version:
    "I'm so tired
    I can barely move
I'm so tired of the things we do
    yeah
    you"

After a long binge this is how the drugs leave you...

    Anyone agree?

General CommentPersonally, I love the acoustic version of this song. About a year ago my best friend of 4 years and I started dating. 3 months later he died in a car accident, and for some reason this song and a few others have really just become the world to me. In listening to it, this song sounds like a boy professing his love to the one that got away... and yet with a little tweaking I think it can also apply to people who have untimely lost their loved ones. Hopefully I'm not the only one that looks at this song this way.
