A heavy heart with heavy eyes...i can feel you by my side
Now, the one thing I desire has run away...to no surprise
We could have reached a thousand skies, and I'm still reaching for you
Remember when it all began?
I touched your face...you touched me...and we believed in innocence
Something you could bring to me
Now that something in the past is coming back again...you'll see
Where did you go?...what did it mean?
I try to remember you...it's hard to believe
The beauty if fading...and silence has ceased
Where did you go?...bring it back to me
I saw the symptoms on your face...how I know you felt inside
Was it a dream for me to think I could please you for a while?
It won't let me get away...and I don't want to leave if this is true
Where did you go?...what did it mean?
I try to remember you...it's hard to believe
The beauty if fading...and silence has ceased
Where did you go?...bring it back to me
I didn't mean to understand the feelings that you posed
I didn't mean to be a friend when you were all alone
I only wanted to be free...and maybe to believe you could love me
Where did you go?...what did it mean?
I try to remember you...it's hard to believe
The beauty if fading...and silence has ceased
Where did you go?...bring it back to me
I want to know, I want to see...i want to know because I believe
I feel the fire...i feel the shine...i want to feel your soul in mine
I want to feel...i want to touch...the part of you I need so much
I want to know...i want to see...i want to know because I believe

mmm, first post. Well, i actually found this band by chance here on songmeanings.net . and i am oh so glad that i did. This song instantly got me hooked, and most of their other stuff is quite beautiful too. In meaning, i basically take this song as remembering back on a past love that left out of the blue. and the singer of the song still misses that person deeply. that's just my observation of the song.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
