"Be Good To Yourself" as written by Jonathan Cain, Steve Perry and Neal Schon....
Runnin' out of self-control
Gettin' close to an overload
Up against a no win situation
Shoulder to shoulder, push and shove
I'm hangin' up my boxin' gloves
I'm ready for a long vacation

Be good to yourself when, nobody else will
Oh be good to yourself
You're walkin' a high-wire, caught in a crossfire
Oh be good to yourself

When you can't give no more
They want it all but you gotta say no
I'm turnin' off the noise that makes me crazy
Lookin' back with no regrets
To forgive is to forget
I want a little piece of mind to turn to

Be good to yourself when, nobody else will
Oh be good to yourself
You're walkin' a high-wire, caught in a crossfire
Oh be good to yourself

Be good to yourself when, nobody else will

    General Comment"Runnin' out of self-control
    Gettin' close to an overload
Up against a no win situation"

Running out of self control could mean that he's beginning to do things that he shouldn't and getting close to an overload means he's getting to the point where he can't stop. He's up against a no win situation because of things that he's either already done or things that are beyond his control.

"Shoulder to shoulder, push and shove
I'm hangin' up my boxin' gloves
I'm ready for a long vacation"

Push and shove because he's competing with someone/something but he's hanging up his boxing gloves because he's done fighting and he's ready for a long vacation from all of the bullshit.

"Be good to yourself when, nobody else will
    Oh be good to yourself"

Love and be good to yourself even though nobody seems to be there for you.

    "You're walkin' a high-wire, caught in a crossfire
    Oh be good to yourself"

Taking risks and being caught in the middle of everything, but still be good to yourself.

"When you can't give no more
They want it all but you gotta say no
I'm turnin' off the noise that makes me crazy"

Don't keep giving everything that you have just because they ask for it because you need some of it for yourself. Just ignore them because the sound of them makes you crazy.

    "Lookin' back with no regrets
    To forgive is to forget
I want a little piece of mind to turn to"

Even if you've had a bad past you can't regret anything. As soon as you can forgive yourself you'll forget all of the bad and then you can be at peace with yourself.

    General CommentRunnin out of self-control
    Gettin close to an overload
Up against a no win situation
Shoulder to shoulder, push and shove
Im hangin up my boxin gloves
Im ready for a long vacation
[About someone who can't controll himelf... possibly taking on so many people's problems and such that he can't stop. He's getting close to an overload of problems and no matter what he does he can't win. He's tired of fighting and really wants to get away from everything]

Be good to yourself when, nobody else will
    Oh be good to yourself
Youre walkin a high wire, caught in a cross fire
    Oh be good to yourself

[be good to yourself, and when you feel like you're above the rest, people will get you involved and you'll be caught in the cross fire. You need to remember to be good to yourself]

When you cant give no more
They want it all but you gotta say no
Im turnin off the noise that makes me crazy
    Lookin back with no regrets
    To forgive is to forget
I want a little piece of mind to turn to
[Pretty much everyone wants you to help them with their problems but you really can't help them anymore because you're so messed up. All these people wanting help is making him crazy. He wants a piece of mind]

Be good to yourself when, nobody else will
    Oh be good to yourself
Youre walkin a high wire, caught in a cross fire
    Oh be good to yourself
Be good to yourself when, nobody else will

My OpinionI read there was a roadie (head roadie, whatever) who was always saying this to the band - Be good to yourself, because nobody else will. It applies to any pressured occupation, where the management will get the last drop of value they can from you, without care for what it costs you.

My InterpretationSeeing as this song was on their last album, Raised on Radio (before their brief reunion for Trial by Fire in '95-'97) I feel like the lyrics are especially telling to what Perry was going through emotionally at the time, which ultimately lead to his departure from Journey the year after this song & album was released. The way he sings in the verses too - with a raw almost angry rasp/strain - you can definitely tell this song was very personal, almost like he was singing directly to Herbie Herbert, their manager.
