I just hate stupid people.
They should have to wear signs that just say I'm stupid.
That way you wouldn't rely on them, would you?
You wouldn't ask them anything.
It would be like, "Excuse me, oops, never mind"
"I didn't see your sign."

It's like before my wife
And I moved from Texas to California our house was full
Of boxes and there was a you-Haul truck in our driveway.
My friend comes over and says, "Hey, You moving?"

"Nope."
"We just pack our stuff up once or twice a week.
Just to see how many boxes it takes."

"Here's your sign."
Why can't they get the picture?
Why don't they understand?
We're not dealing with the planet of apes,
We're talking about the modern man.
So you people with them itsy bitsy teensie weensie tiny minds
Here's your sign.
Here's your sign.

A couple of months ago I went fishing with a buddy of mine,
We pulled his boat into the dock,
I lifted up this big 'ol stringer of bass this idiot on the dock goes,
"Hey, y'all catch all them fish?"

Nope.
"Talked 'em into giving up."
"Here's your sign."
I was out in the front yard with my boy the other day and he was
Playing with his little friend,
And he hit his friend and I went up to him
And I said "Hey, (smacks his boy), we don't hit."
He looked up at me like, "Here's your sign, dad."

Why can't they get the picture?
Why don't they understand?
We're not dealing with the planet of apes,
We're talking about the modern man.
So you people with them itsy bitsy teensie weensie tiny minds
Here's your sign.
Here's your sign.

I was watching one of those animal shows on the Discovery Channel,
There was a guy
Inventing a shark bite suit.
There's only one way to test that.
"Alright Jimmy, you got that shark suit on,
It looks good
They want you to jump
Into this pool of sharks,
And you tell us if it hurts when they bite you."

"Well alright, hold my sign, I don't want to loose it"
Why can't they get the picture?
Why don't they understand?
We're not dealing with the planet of apes,
We're talking about the modern man.
So you people with them itsy bitsy teensie weensie tiny minds
Here's your sign.
Here's your sign.

Last time I was home I was driving around I had a flat tire,
I pulled my truck into one
Of these side-of-the-road gas stations,
The attendant walks out, looks
At my truck, looks at me, I swear to GOD he went,
"Tire go flat?"

I couldn't resist.
I said "Nope".
"No I was driving around
And those other three just swelled right up on me."

"Here's your sign."
Why can't they get the picture?
Why don't they understand?
We're not dealing with the planet of apes,
We're talking about the modern man.
So you people with them itsy bitsy teensie weensie tiny minds
People with them little bitty teenie weenie tiny monds
Here's your sign.

We were trying to sell our car about a year ago,
A guy come over to the house, drove the
Car around for about 45 minutes.
We get back to the house, he gets out
Of the car, reaches down
And grabs the exhaust pipe, then goes, "Damn that's hot!"

See
If he'd been wearing his sign, I could have stopped him.

Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
