"3 Inch Horses, Two Faced Monsters" as written by and Brock....
It's the big show tongue tip tied to the roof of my mouth
Bad naughty little angels come rushin' out.
I don't know but I been told you never die and you never grow old.
I guess you guessed that I"d catch hell.

I just caught a cold but now I'm feelin' well.
It's the big show it's big show
Looked like we were photographed at gun point so I had to laugh.
Ha ha.

You said "I hope you live forever." Don't you wish that on me.
You said "don't be clever."
I don't know but I been told you never die and you never grow old.
It's the big show. It's the big show!

Three inch horses watching them drown (in the tar pits).
We're kneeling down.
They see us talking out both sides of our mouths.
Two faced monsters. aaawh.

General Comment"I don't know but I been told you never die and you never grow old."

This line from 3 Inch Horsemen is also sampled at the end of A Different City (the downloaded version I have anyway).

General CommentBrock also doesn't like to be interviewed because everyone asks him what the songs are about. He said they mean different things to different people, so even if what you said, studson, was the truth, let pttc have their version.
Personally, I've always agreed that this song was about arrogant, hypocritical people and I thought that the "big show" was just referring to life in general. It's not a big conclusion, but it seems to fit with many of the other tracks and MM likes to tie songs and albums together. (A perfect example is the whole "You'll never die and you'll never grow old" line which is used on a few songs.) Anyway, Go Modest Mouse, woo!

General CommentI really love this son, I love the cowboy, country-western vibe and the solo-round. I think Isaac is saying don't be clever, not the guy he's talking about, it makes more sense. And I think arrogance is right.

General Commentnot sure what the fuck three inch horses are, but the two faced monsters at the end refers to either people saying one thing and meaning another or being hypocritical and contradicting themselves. two faced means having two sides, often a good side that people meet at first and a bad side that people eventually start to see come out in someone.

General Commentmy take on the song?
Its all about him thinking differently about everything than his possible girlfriend.

"It's the big show tongue tip tied to the roof of my mouth bad naughty little
    angels come rushin' out. "
this tongue is tied, and he doesn't want to say things that may sound true but offense (naughty angels)

"I don't know but I been told you never die and you never grow old."
I'm sure he just likes that line and it means something personal to him

"I guess you guessed that I"d catch hell. I just caught a cold but now I'm feelin well. "
The girl told him that he is going to hell for his sins, but since he is agonistic, he doesn't believe her and thinks its all mumbo-jumbo

"It's the big show it's big show"
    no clue at all

"Looked like we were photographed at gun point so I had to laugh. Ha ha. "
he was able to find humor in something she couldn't understand, and she was mad at him.

"You said "I hope you live forever." Don't you wish that on me. You said "don't be clever."
I think this is pretty face forward, she was trying to be sweet, but he doesn't like the concept of forever.
and she got pissed that he didn't accept the compliment.

I don't know but I been told you never die and you never grow old.
It's the big show. It's the big show!
again, no idea, maybe big show means pretending to be the same as the other

"Three inch horses watching them drown (in the tar pits). We're kneeling down. "
something about religion i would bet.

"They see us talking out both sides of our mouths.
    Two faced monsters. aaawh."
The us referring to the people who think as brocks thinks, how they put on a show and pretend to be like everyone else.

so that is only my interpretation. That is also what I am going through right now. Brocks sounds far too much like bukowski.
