General CommentIt does seem to be about bad music, but I think it's more than that.

They talk about the various ways in which people think that they can better their lives, or various ways in which people think they'll be happy. Like, "I'll be happier if I can lose a pound or two" and things like that. How people focus on these ridiculous, minor, superficial things, and starve their heart and soul for it.

So I think it's less about bad pop music, and more about how people listen to things they're told to listen to, or like what they're told to like, and how people feel hemmed in by the status quo even to the point of liking certain types of music.

For me, it doesn't read bitter, just sad -- and then, with the "Well, fuck that!" a little defiant. They're not going to go down without a fight, and neither should anyone else.

    General CommentHere's an English Translation:

The animal of a manual life
    Average is also happy
Even if the policy comes all apart, it's O.K.

    A No Damage-y image
    Calorie Off for Happy!
    Malnourishing your heart is O.K.

    Instant Music
    It's flooding the world
    Children are drowning
    Diet Music
    Look! it enthralls them
    Well, fuck that!

The animal of a manual life
Happy to be made to Navigate
    A counselor's whisper is O.K.

    A rental sentimal
    Stress Zero for Happy!
Getting a pipe cut would be O.K.

    Instant Music
    It's flooding the world
    Children are drowning
    Diet Music
    Look! it enthralls them
    Well, fuck that!

    Instant Music
    It's flooding the world
    Adults are growing fat
    Resistant Music
    Okay, so plug your ears
    Well, fuck that!

Note: pipe cut - slang for vasectomy

The song could be referring to bad pop music maybe, how it's just stupid.

That rumor has been flying around for awhile now, and the pillows deny it.

General CommentI always thought that it was about bad music, personally.

This is a strange song, because at first it sounds very J-poppish (they even seem to intentionally put emphasis on the words "HAPPY" ond "OKAY".)Once you learn the real meaning of the song, it's actually very bitter.
