"For The Ocean" as written by and James Ryan Black Arnold David Lanni....
Without it I'm failing
My heart waits in the wings alone
The stages I go through
Keep coming time and time and time again

Do you wonder how
I stay so complacent

It's like waiting for the ocean
To save you from the waves
When you're so far under
Silent, never moving and never moving

You've taken your timing
So flawless executing me
So fearless and hopeful
Can you imagine such a scene

Do you wonder how
I stay so complacent

It's like waiting for the ocean
To save you from the waves
When you're so far under
Silent, never

Waiting for the needle
To take away the pain
Until finally we numb
Our every bone

Do you wonder, did you ever wonder
How I stay so complacent
I stay so complacent

It's like waiting for the ocean
To save you from the waves
When you're so far under
Silent, never

Waiting for the needle
To take away the pain
Until finally we numb
Our every bone, our every bone

General CommentThat song sounds like its about heroin and the addiction of it "Without it I'm failing," and "the stages I go through." And a lyric that was not posted but is in the song "Waiting for the needle to take away the pain." Seeing as heroin calms you down.

General CommentI like that interpretation Runix. Now that you mention it, it could very well be about an addiction. But I have a different twist on these lyrics. I think its about romance believe it or not. But not just about any romance, I believe the 'speaker' of the song is afraid to fall in love for fear of getting hurt.

I think this because of the lyrics "It's like waiting for the ocean to save you from the waves" and "Waiting for the needle to take away the pain" because both lines are paradoxes talking about what love's like because of past experiences; and how they don't want to ever fall in love. Also, "Until finally we numb our every border" (which isn't posted but is still in the song) makes me think that the person is trying to close up from love. Finally, the second line "My heart waits in the wings alone" again leads me to believe that the song is about a person not wanting love.

    That's just my opinion though...

General CommentI think I read somewhere, or maybe I heard Scott Anderson say in an interview sometime, that it IS about heroin addiction... That's what I thought when I heard it, and I know I've heard them say that's what it's about at some point.

General CommentI've heard a little about this song, I love the song.. Someone told me its about heroine, which it makes sense I guess.. Especially "Without it I'm failing" and "Waiting for the needle to take away the pain." Makes a little sense if you ask me.. Anyways.. This is probably my favorite F11 song, I love it..
