"Wherever You Will Go" as written by Alex Band, Aaron Kamm Kamin and Oliver Hutterer....
So lately, been wondering
Who will be there to take my place
When I'm gone you'll need love to light the shadows on your face
If a great wave shall fall and fall upon us all
Then between the sand and stone, could you make it on your own

If I could, then I would
I'll go wherever you will go
Way up high or down low, I'll go wherever you will go

And maybe, I'll find out
A way to make it back someday
To watch you, to guide you through the darkest of your days
If a great wave shall fall and fall upon us all
Then I hope there's someone out there who can bring me back to you

If I could, then I would
I'll go wherever you will go
Way up high or down low, I'll go wherever you will go

Run away with my heart
Run away with my hope
Run away with my love

I know now, just quite how
My life and love might still go on
In your heart, in your mind, I'll stay with you for all of time

If I could, then I would
I'll go wherever you will go
Way up high or down low, I'll go wherever you will go

If I could turn back time, I'll go wherever you will go
If I could make you mine, I'll go wherever you will go
I'll go wherever you will go

My OpinionThis is such a brilliant song - I've always loved the song but not the video by The Calling. I thought the lyrics had such a deeper meaning than girl discovering her boyfriend has cheated on her. Like others say here this is more versatile to even be played at a funeral. For me this song just makes me remember about the important things in life. Like what I want to be remembered for when I have gone and also even for the people I might leave behind. The only thing i would change from the original version is that the Charlene Soraia Version did a lot more for the lyric content, But it sounds better sung by Alex Band.

General CommentThis song is just awesome... It truly is one of the best songs on the cd. (Another good one is Adrienne) When there's just that person you feel so deeply about, you'd do anything to follow them. And once you lose that person, you go to the ends of the earth to be with them... but all the while they don't appreciate you... and you continue to love them and don't want to see what you should be seeing- that they don't want you anymore...

General CommentApparently the writer of the lyrics was talking about someone dying, leaving a loved one behind. The dying person wants to make sure the one continuing to live will be alright, and will do anything and go anywhere to stay together. I love this song but it makes me sad; it reminds me of how mortal we are and the pain of death separating people.

General CommentThe song is very good, romantic, but not to sappy. I think the guy is basically saying that he will always love the person, but that he can't be with her now, and maybe that she can be with someone else if she wants to while he is gone. (which would be really hard to tell a lover), but he will make it back as soon as he can so they can be together again, if she still wants that.

It also has a personal meaning to me, because I'll be leaving my boyfriend when I go away to college. I want him to know that the lyrics express my feelings.

General Commentthis guy telling his girl he doesn't want to take her to where he is going...but he will always love her. he cares so much for her that he wonders who will be there to take his place...give her same love and laughter he gave her. And if he could he would go wherever she goes, but for the time being he can't.....and he loves and cares for a lot, but he has to let her go.

General CommentAnyone ever read His Dark Materials? It's the Golden Compass trilogy by Philip Pullman. As soon as I heard this song for the first time, I immediately thought of those books, especially the last one.

    Any thoughts?

General CommentI think this song is about a guy telling a girl that if it was possible, he'd follow her to the ends of the earth. IF he could, but he can't. "If I could turn back time" suggests that he would change what made them have to separate in the first place.....I love this song, but it's depressing! Lol.
