"Take Warning" as written by and Billy Dyce....
Stand by your friends, wrong or right
Can't call that justice when its just a stupid excuse to fight
Single out and attack the ones who got no defense
You call that a new way of thinking
I call it regression to ignorance

Take warning

There's a new generation coming
And we really gotta stand up to them

Nobody's got a thing against you
Unless you've got something to prove
We don't need no set of standards
We don't need a new set of rules
Heard all that shit before,
about stomping out any difference
We say stand together,
(Not to fight just to exist)

Intimidation coming
And we really gotta say no to them

Enough is enough is enough,
why don't you just ease up
I saw another beat down last night,
take warning
Who's the next to hit the ground tonight take warning

General CommentI think this song is pretty straightforward, so no interpretation necessary. I just want to say that this is the catchiest bloody song in the universe. It embeds itself in my brain!

General CommentFor all the people who don't understand it I'll throw in my 2 cents worth.

I think the song is about all the fighting in the east bay scene when Jesse Michaels was a teen. "Stand by your friends, wrong or right, can't call that justice if it's just a stupid excuse to fight" It's about fighting for your friends no matter the circumstance. Which Jesse was opposed to. He preached Unity, not Violence. Well I guess I could go into more detail, but I'm not going to. Op Ivy is dead... Now so is Common Rider, jesus christ, when is Jesse gonna stick with a band for more than a few years?

General Commentyeah..both op ivy and Common Rider ruled...unfortunately common rider never got the recognition they deserve. this song is about retaining your own values amongst a crowd.

General CommentThis is defintiely one of their best. It's a lot slower and more reggae-styled than most of their other songs, kind of a taste of things to come with Common Rider. I saw another beat down last nite take warning......
