"Oh my God! What a fabulous room! Are all these your guitars?
"I'm sorry sir, I didn't mean to startle you"
"This place is bigger than our apartment"
"Let me know when you're entering a room"
"Yes sir"
"Um, Can I get a drink of water?"
"I was wondering about"
"You want some, huh?"
"Yes"
"Oh wow, look at this tub? Do you want to take bath?"
"I'll have to find out from Mrs. Bancroft what time she wants to meet us, for her main"
"What are watching?"
"If you'll just let me know as soon as you can Mrs Bancroft" "Mrs Bancroft"
"Hello?"
"I don't understand"
"Are you feeling okay?"

Day after day, love turns grey
Like the skin of a dying man
And night after night, we pretend its all right
But I have grown older and
You have grown colder and
Nothing is very much fun any more
And I can feel one of my turns coming on
I feel cold as a razor blade
Tight as a tourniquet
Dry as a funeral drum

Run to the bedroom,
In the suitcase on the left
You'll find my favorite axe
Don't look so frightened
This is just a passing phase
One of my bad days
Would you like to watch T.V.?
Or get between the sheets?
Or contemplate the silent freeway?
Would you like something to eat?
Would you like to learn to fly?
Would'ya?
Would you like to see me try?

Would you like to call the cops?
Do you think it's time I stopped?
Why are you running away?

    Song Meaning

"Day after day, love turns grey Like the skin of a dying man Night after night, we pretend it's all right But I have grown older and You have grown colder and Nothing is very much fun any more."

it's about his wife. their love is dying as the days go by, yet they go on as if nothing is wrong, as many do. he's older now (they got married young), and he's changed, and she's grown colder, she doesn't care about him anymore.

"And I can feel one of my turns coming on. I feel cold as razor blade Tight as a tourniquet Dry as a funeral drum"

his temper is about to break, simple as that.

the next whole segment, the loud half of the song, is still directed at his wife. these are the things he'd like to say to his wife, in order to finally express his feelings.

"Run to the bedroom, in the suitcase on the left You'll find my favorite axe"

this line could mean that he's planning to leave, and axe is referring to a guitar. as a musician i know i'd never leave anywhere for good without my guitar, and bringing his favorite guitar in itself could be symbolic of leaving for good. otherwise it's a threat of violence, or a confession of previously intended violence. or lastly he's saying i'm taking my favorite axe (way of hurting you) with me when i leave, meaning he's planning on leaving in order to stop hurting her.

"Don't look so frightened This is just a passing phase Just one of my bad days"

that's all it is. some people's bad days are worse than others, he's saying this is normal for him. so please don't be alarmed, i won't hurt you, i just need to get this shit out of my head.

"Would you like to watch T. V.? Or get between the sheets? Or contemplate the silent freeway? Would you like something to eat?"

very sarcastic. these are basic things that couples do, but they're boring things. he's repeating things she's asked him, while he was in a bad mood she'd ask him to do things like these to get his mind off of what was bothering him. just normal things that people do to escape. the sarcasm voices disdain.

"Would you like to learn to fly? Would you like to see me try?"

pure and simple words said to hurt. 'why don't you jump off a cliff?' essentially means 'go to hell.' 'fuck off.' etc. the answer will almost always be 'no.' so he follows with 'then i will.' he's just being hurtful.

"Would you like call the cops? Do you think it's time I stopped? Why are you running away?"

starts off with a certain amount of sarcasm still in his voice, though it could be unintentional (many times i've spoken with an unintended tone of voice), but by the end of the three lines he's truly confused and distressed. to him these actions are normal and routine, but everybody always runs away. they take their turn and then he takes his and it seems like such an overreaction but he honestly just feels that strongly. he can't help it.

turn in this song means a turn as in you go, then i go. it also means a turn in mood, like a turn for the worse.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
