Another day has gone
I'm still all alone
How could this be
You're not here with me
You never said goodbye
Someone tell me why
Did you have to go
And leave my world so cold

Everyday I sit and ask myself
How did love slip away
Something whispers in my ear and says

That you are not alone
For I am here with you
Though you're far away
I am here to stay

But you are not alone
I am here with you
Though we're far apart
You're always in my heart
You are not alone

Alone, alone
Why, alone

Just the other night
I thought I heard you cry
Asking me to come
And hold you in my arms
I can hear your prayers
Your burdens I will bear
But first I need your hand
Then forever can begin

Everyday I sit and ask myself
How did love slip away
Something whispers in my ear and says

That you are not alone
For I am here with you
Though you're far away
I am here to stay

But you are not alone
And I am here with you
Though we're far apart
You're always in my heart
For you are not alone

Whisper three words and I'll come runnin'
And I and girl you know that I'll be there
I'll be there

You are not alone
I am here with you
Though you're far away
I am here to stay

For you are not alone
I am here with you
Though we're far apart
You're always in my heart

For you are not alone (you are not alone)
For I am here with you (I am here with you)
Though you're far away (though you're far away)
(You and me) I am here to stay

For you are not alone (you are always in my heart)
For I am here with you though we're far apart
You're always in my heart

For you are not alone not alone, oh

I had to leave someone behind due to unforeseen circumstances. I am unable to contact them in anyway due to safety reasons so everyday before I go to sleep I light a candle for that person and tell them how much I still think of them and pray and long to see them again. One evening I turned on my computer and was thinking of this person when this song came to my mind. I hadn't heard it in years and could not even remember the lyrics. So I looked it up and played it on utube and was so amazed. It answered the question in my mind...and heart. It's so amazing how music can touch so many people in different situations.

It's almost an inspirational song. If you change the lyrics a little, it could mean that God is telling you that you aren't alone and He's always there.

This is one of Michael's best songs ever. It's sad we lost a legend. It will be nice to see how everything plays out and find out the truth about how he died. I'm sure his Dr. had something to do with it. This is a tragic event, we lost a LEGEND and he will NEVER BE REPLACED. Much love Mike, you will be missed. RIP

This song has a lot more meaning now, Michael Jackson will always be in his fans' hearts and he will be here with us in the wonderful music he left us with. It's so sad of what happened, we've lost a wonderful loving person in the world.

when I hear this song it is very comforting yet so sad at the same time especially since he died yesterday I really like the beginning line " another day has gone" it sadly makes you think of all the wasted nights you spend alone when you wish your with someone you loved.

In my opinion, it kinda just hit me now, but maybe it means like, he (or anybody else in this situation) can be so miserable over maybe a recent break up OR maybe someone close to you died and you just feel so alone and lonely, but what the chorus sounds like is that, God is telling you, you are not alone, and that he is always there with you no matter what you are going through. Because he says "everyday I sit and ask myself How did love slip away" but then he says SOMETHING whispers into his ear and says..."you are not alone".

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
