"My Poor Brain" as written by Nate Mendel, Dave Grohl and Pat Smear....
Real life is so hard
We hide in the stars
That's where our heads are
My head and your heart

This is a blackout
Don't let it go to waste
This is a blackout
I want to detonate

When you are so far
I'm falling part
Lose all my sonar
You jam my radar

This is a blackout
Don't let it go to waste
This is a blackout
I want to detonate

Sometimes I feel I'm getting stuck
Between the handshake and the fuck
You've got me on guard
I've got my head start
My head and your heart
The same in the stars

This is a blackout
Don't let it go to waste
This is a blackout
I want to detonate

Sometimes I feel I'm getting stuck
Between the handshake and the fuck
Brain, brain, brain, brain
Okay

General CommentIt seems that things are going okay for him and the girl...Then he has a blackout and becomes an angrier more intense version of himself. Like a manic-depressive. "I can't save you from my poor brain" he wishes he could be normal, but he can't and he's sorry for it.

The line "Sometimes I feel I'm getting stuck, between the handshake and the fuck"...I love that line, I don't know why I really have no idea what it means.

General CommentPretty much that "real life is so hard..."
and when you are depressed a lot, you need someone to take your mind off it. "we hide in the
    stars".
So when your special person is so far away, everything seems to fucking suck; hence the "blackout".
When you're depressed all the time, too, it can take down the people with you as well. "I can't save you from my poor brain, ok?"

I could go on and on about this song. Means much to me.

General Commentthis song is about getting lost in space and blowing up because in space there is a vacuum that will make you explode if you don't have your space suit on

General CommentI know it's not the intended meaning, but "my poor brain" is a great name for the song just because it's a good song to listen to when you're really (I mean REALLY) stressed.

General CommentThe line "sometimes I feel I'm getting stuck, between the handshake and the fuck" is one of the all time great lines in my opinion. Its like one of thos simple things that somebody says that you can completely relate to your life. Its the ultimate verbalization of sexual frustration.

General Comment"sometimes I feel I'm getting stuck, between the handshake and the fuck" i think is the line that says what the whole song is about. i think it's about thinking too much about whether a particular relationship will work and not just trusting your heart. oh how much this is about my life!

General CommentYeah, I like that meaning too, except for one thing. I recently read (much to my disappointment) that you don't actually explode in a vacuum; human skin is strong enough that your body merely swells up and you die from a lack of oxygen.

General CommentLove songs that start so imbalanced - Great Song. Intro is similar to Pearl Jam's Last Exit
