"Platypus (I Hate You)" as written by Billie Joe Armstrong, Frank E. Wright and Michael Pritchard....
You're rise and fall
Back up against the wall
What goes around is coming back and haunting you
It's time to quit
'Cause you ain't worth the shit
Under my shoes or the piss on the ground

No one loves you and you know it
Don't pretend that you enjoy it or you don't care
'Cause now I wouldn't lie or tell you all the things you want to hear

'Cause I hate you, 'cause I hate you, 'cause I hate you, 'cause I hate you
I heard your sick
Sucked on that cancer stick
A throbbing tumor and a radiation high
Shit out of luck
And now your time is up
It brings me pleasure just to know your going to die

No one loves you and you know it
Don't pretend that you enjoy it or you don't care
'Cause now I wouldn't lie or tell you all the things you want to hear
'Cause I hate you, 'cause I hate you, 'cause I hate you, 'cause I hate you
Dickhead, fuck face, cock smoking,
Mother fucking, asshole, dirty twat
Waste of semen, I hope you die hey

Red eye, code blue
I'd like to strangle you
And watch your eyes bulge right out of your skull
When you go down
Head first into the ground
I'll stand above you just to piss on your grave

No one loves you and you know it
Don't pretend that you enjoy it or you don't care
'Cause now I wouldn't lie or tell you all the things you want to hear
'Cause I hate you, 'cause I hate you, 'cause I hate you, 'cause I hate you

General CommentBillie Joe Armstrong named it platypus because he said he has always wanted to name a song platypus.

I saw an interview with him in it and he said he just felt like it, no reason

Song Meaningthis song is about a reporter who was insulting them and they were mad about it so they wrote this song. they were going to put it on insomniac but billie joe waited to show how mature he was and put it on nimrod instead.

General Commentit's a song about absolute hate against someone where you would love to see them die... because they fucked with your mind one too many times.

General CommentThis is basically the song of my teenage years. I dedicate to pretty much my entire extended family and half the assholes I went to school with.

General Commentit's about come-uppance. like "i used to patronize you and it made me feel like shit, and now everyone's letting you know what they really think of you." actually the song kind of progresses from the thought of vengeance to a string of insults (my favorite cussing line since "bad habit") to outright murder....

i dunno, i just like to listen to it when i'm pissed off. loudly.
