"Hitchin' a Ride" as written by Billie Joe Armstrong, Frank E. Wright and Michael Pritchard....
Hey mister, where you headed?
Are you in a hurry?
I need a lift to happy hour say oh no
Do you brake for distilled spirits?
I need a break as well
The well that inebriates the guilt
One, two
One, two, three, four

Cold turkey's getting stale
Tonight I'm eating crow
Fermented salmonella poison oak no
There's a drought at the fountain of youth
And I'm dehydrated
My tongue is swelling up
I say one, two
One, two, three, four

Troubled times
You know I cannot lie
I'm off the wagon and I'm hitchin' a ride

There's a drought at the fountain of youth
And now I'm dehydrated
My tongue is swelling up
I say
Shit

Troubled times
You know I cannot lie
I'm off the wagon and I'm hitchin' a ride

Hitchin' a ride (don't know where to go)
Hitchin' a ride (don't know where to go)
Hitchin' a ride (don't know where to go)
Hitchin' a ride (don't know where to go)
Hitchin' a ride (don't know where to go)
Hitchin' a ride (don't know where to go)
Hitchin' a ride (don't know where to go)
Hitchin' a ride (don't know where to go)

General Commentthis song is about drinking and a man who is giving in to his old habit due to the static life of sobriety. After you quit drinking for a while, it still haunts you...and sooner or later, you give in....god bless the devils juice

General CommentI must agree...this song is fucking incredible when they play it live. At the warped tour show, everyone in the crowd literally fell to one side...BJ actually stopped singing (mike and tre kept playing) and get everyone up on their feet. "People came here to hear music, not fucking die" Gotta love the man.

General CommentYeah, at pop disaster they got the whole crowd into the song, which they did with every song, but still. And hell yes Green Day is definantly the best live band in rock and roll.

General CommentYeah, at Pop Disaster...Billie Joe had complete control over the fans...if he said something quiet...the fans replied with something quiet and if he screamed, the fans would scream. The crowd responce was insane...they are definately the best live band.
