"Torn" as written by Mark Tremonti and Scott Stapp....
Peace is what they tell me
Love am I unholy
Lies are what they tell me
Despise you that control me

The peace is dead in my soul
I have blamed the reasons for
My intentions poor
Yes I'm the one who
The only one who
Would carry on this far

Torn, I'm filthy
Born in my own misery
Stole all that you gave me
Control you claim you save me

The peace is dead in my soul
I have blamed the reasons for
My intentions poor
Yes I'm the one who
The only one who
Would carry on this far

Peace in my head
Love in my head
Lies lies lies lies in my head.

The peace is dead in my soul
I have blamed the reasons for
My intentions poor
Yes I'm the one who
The only one who
Would carry on this far

The peace is dead in my soul
I have blamed the reasons for
My intentions poor
Yes I'm the one who
The only one who
Would carry on this far

    General Commenthahaha!
You crack me up, sven. I've seen you do those "interpretations on a whole bunch of songs! Man, you've got one funny sense of humor!

Anyway, I love these lyrics. Rock on, Creed!

General CommentI think this has alot to do with Government control or maybe societies influence and control over what we do. Like when he says "peace is what they tell me
    love am i unholy
lies are what they tell me " I think he's talking about how we're told we should be something because it's right but on the inside we have this inner voice that tells us that we should be something unique. If you try to listen to that voice and be different, society as a whole seems to try and destroy you(mentally at least). Most of us just give up after some time and we conform but he won't so he has to live a torn, painful life..............Or maybe I'm looking too far into it, you decide.

General CommentI think it means that he felt betrayed by his religion (lies are what they tell me). I remember watching Behind the Music and he did drugs and admitted this to the colledge he was going to and they kicked him out. He had been told that if you are honest you will be forgiven, but he wasn't and he felt that everything that he had been told about religion was a lie.

General CommentI think maybe he is actually questioning God, because it sounds like he is asking God about his contradictions. "Despise you that control me." And "I have many reasons for my intentions, poor." "Peace is dead in my soul..." "Yes I am the one who, the only one who, would carry on this far." "Control? You claim you saved me!" "...Stole all that you gave me..."
