When you dove,
Drunk with sleep in your eyes
You stole what was left of the sky,
I remember how you freed your hair,
Hung your head in a forgotten stare

And I thought...and I thought
When will the water stop,
Will it pour all day?
When will the water stop?
I know that you can't say.
[2x]

Turning to fall out of our lives,
Spinning pictures: blue screams and red kisses.
You sank into yourself and I got lost
Somewhere in between.

When will the water stop,
Will it pour all day?
When will the water stop?
I know that you can't say.
[2x]

She's washed up on his shore,
There's no time to get into his life
[2x]

When you dove,
Drunk with sleep in your eyes
You stole what was left of the sky,
I remember how you freed your hair,
Hung your head in a forgotten stare
And I thought..and I thought..

When will the water stop,
Will it pour all day?
When will the water stop?
I know that you can't say.
[2x]

Well..

She's washed up on his shore,
There's no time to get into his life
[3x]

No, no..
No, no.. yeah
[2x]

    General CommentFirst interpretation...

To me, this song's about unrequited love. Pursuit of girl who is too caught up in her own love interest (unrequited, as well) to get involved with him.

Water's just a perfect metaphor for feeling down because of this. Rain, storms, etc..

General Commenti think you have the right idea about sadness, but it seems to me that the girl is sad, and hes wondering how long it could last "I remember how you freed your hair,
Hung your head in a forgotten stare And I thought..and I thought.." and also "You sank into yourself and I got lost Somewhere in between." I dunno, thats what i think, i really like this song though

General CommentThose definately could work, but here's my personal spin on this song. It's about a guy and a girl who are perfect for each other, but the girl is somewhat of an alcoholic and messes up their perfect lives together, forcing them to break up. Then later in life she tries to clean up her act, but he has already moved on with his life without her. "She's washed up his shore, there's no time to get into his life."

General Commentits seems as if a girl got involved with a guy with problems
the guy with problems was a pool of water
the girl dove in to the pool (thus diving into the persons problems and their life)
she got in over her head, too attatched to the guy... "when will the water stop"
the guy was consumed with his problems ("sank into yourself")
she went into the pool to try and save this guy from himself
she only ended up losing herself on the way to trying to help him...
she ends up on shore... not with the guy, washed up...
there's no time to get into his life...
(greener's idea is also a good one... the idea about cleaning up her act is great.. maybe i have the guy and girl switched...?)

General Commentseems a bit like depression to me, like the water is her crying and he wants to know when she'll stop but he also knows she cant control it so she cant stop. also thought it kinda repressents rain, cos people get sad when it rains, and hes wondering how long she'll stay sad.
'you sank into yourself and i got lost somewhere inbetween' like she can only sit and be sad and he wanted to help her but hes got lost because he cant do anything, and he loves her so he cant leave. and the last bit i think hes talking about himself, she got involved with him 'wahsed up on his shore' but because of her state of mind she cant think about him or care about him cos shes too overwhelmed with her own unhappiness. just my thought.

General CommentTo me, this song is about somebody drowning in some sort of sorrow after somebody drowned metaphorically or in reality. Sometimes, when somebody passes on, a loved one might drown their sorrows in drugs, alcohol or just old-fashioned isolation. The loved one will inevitably drown in the pain and sorrow of losing that particular somebody. So, in a way I think drowning may refer to both people instead of just one. That's just my broad interpretation.

Awesome, awesome song by the way. Dispatch rules!
