"Medicine Man" as written by and Vincent Paul/abbott Abbott....
Many distant miles away
Past the shores of ever dark
There stays a magic man
Who bears an evil mark
He helps all concerned
Those who come again return
Injecting lies while fires burn
The devil's heart
With angel's words

Have you wondered
What heaven's like?
She can show you in one night
Overwhelming with euphoric lift
To lure you to steal your gift

Intoxication
Seeping down to the bone
And there's no question
To where you have to go

Understand, just take his hand
He's the medicine man

Understand, just take his hand
He's the medicine man

Once proud and fearless men
With desire in their eyes
Lost strong and fruitful lives
To self-indulgent ties
Their souls were dipped in venom
Then put into a box
Then placed upon a crowded shelf
Where countless souls now rot

Have you ever wondered what hell's like?
He can take you there
Just one taste and you'll be back
And by the high you'll swear

Intoxication
Seeping down to the bone
And there's no question
To where you have to go

Understand just take his hand
He's the medicine man

Understand just take his hand
He's the medicine man

Understand just take his hand
He's the medicine man

Understand just take his hand
He's the medicine man

General Commentit`s not about the devil..it`s about drugdealers, and addicts and how they so easily manipulates you in to doing drugs, and how easy it`s for old addicts to get hooked again->"Just one taste and you'll be back
And by the high you'll swear"

General CommentYeah, I think it's about drug dealers too, I mean, "Medicine Man"... medicines are drugs for god's sake.
It's a great song, along with the entire Cowboys From Hell album.

General CommentSure, it's about drug dealers and the effects drugs can have on you. It's a very well written lyric, though.

General Commentpeople know your history straight. first of all "medicine man" is a word that is offensive to some native american tribes. a "medicine man", if i'm correct, is a person that(yes with medicine) that heals but also using magic. There is actually more to it but thats all i know.

General Commentto add to my last comment, a medicine man is the healer of a tribe(any tribe) every tribe has a "medicine man". this song probably means how the "man" messed up and didn't heal him.(thats my intrepertation

General CommentYeah, a medicine man is the guy who heals in a tribe, but that doesn't really fit the lyrics here. I mean, read the lines:

    "The devil's heart
    With angel's words"

Drugs are bad for your health but it's easy getting addicted. Very easy.

"Have you wondered what heaven's like?
He can show you in one night"

Seems to me like those lines are about psychotropic hallucinogens.

    "Once proud and fearless men
    With desire in their eyes
    Lost strong and fruitful lives
    To self-indulgent ties
Their souls were dipped in venom
    And put into a box
Then placed upon a crowded shelf
    Where countless souls now rot"

That whole verse is about addiction and how it consumes you.

    General CommentThe devil's heart
    With angel's words...

you are so high and you feel so good, but yet you feel SO BAD.. and when the drugs come off, you just feel bad.

if you have taken ecstasy you understand that one.
