Sometimes late at night
I lie awake and watch her sleeping
She's lost in peaceful dreams, so I turn out the lights
And lay there in the dark

And the thought crosses my mind
If I never wake up in the morning
Would she ever doubt the way I feel about her in my heart

If tomorrow never comes
Will she know how much I loved her?
Did I try in every way to show her every day
That she's my only one?
And if my time on earth were through
And she must face the world without me
Is the love I gave her in the past gonna be enough to last?
If tomorrow never comes

'Cause I've lost loved ones in my life
Who never knew how much I loved them
Now I live with the regret that my true feelings for them
Never were revealed
So I made a promise to myself
To say each day how much she means to me
And avoid that circumstance where there's no second chance
To tell her how I feel

If tomorrow never comes
Will she know how much I loved her?
Did I try in every way to show her every day
That she's my only one?
And if my time on earth were through
And she must face the world without me
Is the love I gave her in the past gonna be enough to last?
If tomorrow never comes

So tell that someone that you love
Just what you're thinking of
If tomorrow never comes

This song will always be remembered as the 'What if' song for me. What if tomorrow never came for me? Would my crush know how much I fought myself to not get fidgety in front of him. Would he even return my feelings? This is one of those songs that makes you think about what you would do if something happened to you and you never got the chance to say something important. For instance, my grandfather died in the hospital while I was at school, I never got to say good-bye or say how much I loved him. Does he know I care? Does he know how much I miss him? This is just one of THOSE songs, it can't be explained...

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
